Do you have problems with having to log on all the time?

I'll stay logged on for a couple days then might have to log on two or three times before it takes.

Is there anything I can do to stop it without having to make any big changes?

Gardenweb occasionally has trouble with logins, and is aware that this occurs. I have had it occur sporadically over the last couple of years. At one point, about 2 years ago, I might have to log in half a dozen times before it would take. The only thing that seemed to help was to login only from the GardenWeb home page rather than while I was in a specific forum. I have not had login problems for a while now, but I know others occasionally do. I don't think there is much you can do, other than to try logging in from the home page.

I've had that problem, especially after I clean my cookies. Then I have a heck of a time signing in. Sometimes I can do it from my Member Page and even then it sometimes "loses" me. real pain.

After seeing your latest pics, ans re-reading your OP - I would say the following: 1. You PURCHASED the piece of stone for the Island - it was your property 2. THEY suggested that you wait on the island 2 1/2 years ago, and on THEIR insistance - took responsibility for the piece (still YOUR property) 3. What they are trying to give you as the island made from "your piece" (if the small sample in the pics is what the stone SHOULD look like...) does NOT match with the sample. Based on these three criteria - I would say you have a case, and that your Fabricator now has the responsibility to "deliver" - if he can't to your satisfaction, you'll need to work out fair compensation for loss and de-fault of contract. Hopefully it won't go there - I'm hoping that your guy will make things right and give you what you feel is acceptable... TO YOU !!!! I would hope that your Fabricator can find a stone with waaay more of a match to the sample, and then everyone wins. My guess is - they lost track of your "piece" AND either broke it or fabbed it (the original) for something else, or they just lost track of it and it's still there - burried in their scrap pile.... I work with shops all over the world in my business, and I cant tell you how many other fabricators are in this general group....... EVERYBODY makes mistakes now and then !!! LOL - But..... you gotta hols your guy's feet to the fire and have him fab up an island that YOU will be happy with. I'm busy from 3 a.m. until 9 p.m. Even though I'm retired, my whole day is filled with what I laughingly call "make work programs" which contribute to our healthy food sources (sprouting, growing wheatgrass, micro-greens, fermenting, a WindowFarm and an AeroGarden - for off-season indoor gardening), and I spend time researching food and food science on-line and working on lesson plans for classes I teach at different venues (Food Bank, Extension Office, Senior Center, 4-H Clubs, Women's Shelter). I make time each day to knit or crochet and for reading. I participate in two message boards on-line, and that's enough for me. I do bulk food preparation - cook once for many meals - so meals don't take much time to prepare, and our home food storage takes some time each day to make sure I track rotation, use, and inventory. I like to try three new recipes each week and like to try new foods and ingredients. The great outdoors takes a big chunk of time during garden season. At least an hour of exercise 5 mornings a week from 4-5 a.m. - in our basement and/or outdoors. I've finally cut back on my volunteering so I can spend more time at home doing things I enjoy. jemdandy - My last PC was a reconditioned business model and I got it inexpensively through hubby works. NO GAMES!!!! If I want to play solitaire I have to find a deck of cards now..... No more time-sucking "free cell" (LOL), but I did love it so.....

Sink manufacturers have a different agenda than homeowners and contractors. Sink manufacturers don't want to get a call that fat plumber hands can't squeeze between the sink and cabinet sides to tighten their specified clips, so they tell everyone that a 33" sink needs a 36" cabinet. It does not if you don't need to get your hands in to tighten the clips, and you don't if you strap. There isn't an engineer on earth that's going to say that straps are inadequate to support a sink. Some engineered stone manufacturers prohibit the installation of insert style studs for clips. So you have the sink manufacturer specifying a method prohibited by your estone manufacturer. Straps make 'em both happy. Homeowners want a 33" sink installed in a 33" cabinet on their agenda. Contractors want to make money with the advantage of being able to do so while their competitors say it's "impossible". (Happened last week.) Lots of industry innovations happen when reputable contractors, seeking competitive advantage and profits, carefully disregard manufacturer's specifications. Corian seams would still be filled with silicone were it up the the engineers at DuPont and thermoforming would not exist.

We've had some problems with Yahoo not downloading emails in a timely manner onto our phones and ipads, but otherwise that's it. We're stuck with it as we have ATT internet service and that's what they use. However, on our Mac, we use Outlook, which imports from ATT. I'm concerned about these numbers you're calling and think they must be junk--I don't think I've ever been able to actually call Yahoo for help. Please don't give any info to random people who want to take control of your computer! You could try the GW Computer forum, or hope Raven might check in--she's a smart cookie with the computer. And yes, it's ridiculous that it is very difficult if not impossible to get Yahoo help.

Yes, like kudzu9 says I've learned to close out Garden Web completely and then go to the homepage and log in there. It's irritating especially when you forget or are just lazy then start reading the forums and come across a thread you wish to contribute to and can't log in at that point.

I use CCleaner and it has an option to save the cookies you need, THS in this case. I use that option and and do not have to log back in. Some software will dump your cookies, I like to look mine over to see what kind is it brings up. I got rid of everything Google. I use Altavista for my home page now. That really cut down on the cookies.

I normally use Firefox as a browser. For a while, I would have to sign into GW in IE first in order to post. Once I had, I could switch back to Firefox. Weird, eh?

Not so much with that problem as the page rolling. Then of course that freezing up I get. I wrote Tamara and told her about it. I hope they get it taken care of.

Use Opera and don't have these problems.

You will have to log in if you clean out the cookies since that's how it remembers you to automatically log in. (And that will apply to any browser.)
