Help, Please pump stopped

I brought my Ph down to about 6.8 pr so, maybe even lower. I'm not sure since I can't tell with the taylor test kit anything below 6.8. I brushed for about a day and a half and then brought my Ph back up to 7.2 before turning my pump back on. That has been since yesterday. My pump came on again this morning as usual. Just now when I went outside, literally as I was standing there, my spillways just stopped. I went over to check to see if someone had messed with my timer, and no it was set to go off late this afternoon. Could my Ph being low have burned up my pump? I didn't turn it back on until my Ph was high enough, or so I thought. Please HELP! Any ideas, anyone? My polaris pump is good and I can turn it on. I just don't know what happened to my pool pump. My pump is a 1.5 hp challenger by Pentair. Thanks
