My goodness, that place looks huge. How many BR's does it have. Does she do a B&B there? I don't know much about her except her recipes.

She must have a huge staff to keep that place so clean. All that wood and glass. I just finished cleaning my windows and I'm exhausted.

I have been a fan of her blog when it was still easy to read the comments and by some things she wrote was able to find out via the internet the family name,her husband's name and the names of her kids before she finally listed them.

I don't really pay much attention to her recipes because they have too many calories and are suited more for the hard working life they lead.

I've been a PW fan for quite awhile. Thanks for the link to the photos. You never get to see her and MM together. BTW, the crash hot potatoes are really good, and aren't calorie laden.

As far as I can tell, she has NO staff. Just her little ole self. I saw the remake of the lodge and I think she just goes in and cleans up before and after guests. If they are good guests, they clean up after themselves, strip the beds and such.

I love that site. I go there few times a day to check out all the new stuff.

I used to enjoy Pioneer Woman but in the past six months she's gotten too over the top for me.
She is not a typical ranch wife and her readers don't know any better. I much prefer reading her weekend guest's blog (Country Doctor's Wife and April Showers) because they are not pretentious in any way.

None of her recipes work for me either.

That said, in PW's early day I got some good photoshop tips from here. Most of her actions, though, are over the top.

They definitely aren't small town ranchers hurting for money. Several years back the corporation received $20 million for property they sold and they also own 20,000 acres on their other ranch that they travel to beside the acreage where they live. The internet report I read, which may be several years old, says they have 4000 wild horses,which they get paid by the government for upkeep, and 6500 mother cows. They are pretty savvy. MM majored in business finance in college and his brother in animal science.

Indeed, the Drummonds have a large holding and the ranch was homesteaded in the early 1900s.

The horses bugged me for a long time on PW. It has only been recently she revealed the ranch is paid (alot of money) by the government to care for BLM horses. Until she did so the unitiated would believe the Drummonds took care of the horses out of the goodness of their hearts..which they didn't. That bothered me. I guess because I knew something the average reader did not and could not know until PW enlightened them.

At first I got a big kick out of her blog.
She made me laugh so much because she didn't take herself seriously. She admitted she was not a country girl and was doing the best she could. Unfortunately for me anyway, that has changed. The whole tone of her blog is different now.

She doesn't make fun of herself like she used to.
She has also contradicted herself many time in regards to the ranch, her abilities and her participation on the ranch and I don't understand why. Her motto was always 'keepin it real' and I don't see that anymore.

I'm just disappointed.
I miss the old Pioneer Woman.

Today Mysistersfarmhouse site has two pictures of Cowboy Josh, for anyone who is interested.

I love the book she is writing Black Heels to Tractor Wheels. I go on her blog everyday to see if she has added a new chapter.

As for her recipes, she does them step by step with pictures, so I can't figure out why they would be wrong for the people who have tried them?

Liira, yes she does her recipes step by step with photos, but I printed out one of the "printable" versions.....saves paper, easier than printing out pages and pages of the recipe with pics.

Anyway, there were several errors in the printable version. It was for beef enchiladas and I had never made them before and I had never bought or cooked with corn tortillas before. One error in the recipe, she said to fry the tortillas for 30 seconds each side. I quickly realized she meant 3 seconds per side. 30 seconds per side and they were so hard and crisp it was impossible to roll them. There were other errors in the recipe as well.

Oh, yes I didn't catch that. You just fry totillas until tender and it only takes a little under 30 seconds.

LOL! I meant 3 seconds. Duh!
