Dearest friend has two families there: daughter and hubby and 3 youngsters, and son and his wife with 2 youngones. Friend just drove back from Boston last week. They are building a second home up there to be close to family.

Joel's home cooking: country fried steak, cajun corn, green bean casserole and cornbread. Ohhhhh so good!

First time since the 15th that I have cooked dinner. Tonight we are in Norfolk, VA camped at the NAS on Virginia Beach.

I am fixing Bulgogie, Jasmine rice and green beans.

Add pumpkin pie and you'd have a Thanksgiving meal in April.

A couple of times I've wondered what it would be like to make Mac and cheese and put some of my spaghetti meat sauce on it. I did that today. (I liked it well enough that I'll do it again). Had the sauce in the freezer. Also put some sauce on a plain hotdog. Applesauce was the finishing touch.

Glenda, hope your friend's family is all safe. My niece and family are all fine, it's just sis getting back home to Florida. She retired from Delta so they are flying standby, so it could be days. They'll probably buy tickets on whatever airline they can find with an opening. Joel's sounds wonderful. I'm one of the few people who really like green bean casserole. We had it for Easter. Hadn't had it for a while so I had to have seconds :-)

Nita, I know you are really enjoying your trip and seeing so many KT'ers. I enjoy reading about your adventures. Lucky you for getting a few days out of the kitchen. I won't have much KP since I'm sure we'll have plenty of leftovers.

Seafood medley Alfredo, has shrimp, scallops, crab Alfredo sauce with pasta. This is by Gourmet Dining have never tried it before so we shall see. I love all the ingredients. They are Texas based company. I just was not in the mood to cook a big meal.

I have no idea. I had such high hopes for this afternoon. I played 18 holes of golf, lunched with the ladies, (just a bowl of soup) and then went to the grocery store. I was going to clean my car, make some spaghetti sauce and pickle some beans when I got home but I sat sown in my chair, had my half of sandwich that I didn't eat with the soup, and fell asleep. I just woke up. Think I will have to check out the freezer. I will at least get the beans done!

Bad night lots of rain & winds. We will have to check fence lines to make sure the barb wire did not get hit from fallen trees. Dinner will be crab cakes with brown rice, don't know what I will have. It was close to 90 yesterday & today it is 50.

Shirley, wish I'd thought of the pie. Bet your mac & cheese with the sauce on it was good! I didn't get the apples done, so thanks for the applesauce tip--that I have!

Raven, that sounds so delicious I don't know how it could be bad. Everything on their website looked good, but I guess they don't ship. Dang! Let us know how you liked it.

Mary, what a nice dinner. Love crab cakes. We're going to have the same weather as you--close to 90 today if it wasn't at least that and just saw on the news tomorrow the high is supposed to be 65! WTH is going on with this weather??

Boiling eggs on the stove... Don't know why but my body is craving for an egg salad sandwich for dinner. Maybe, it needs protein :o)

We just got home.

My step-father has worked at the same family dealership for 54 years. He's 74. He finally retired, and they had a retirement celebration for him at a local pub.

The drinks and finger food were free, and gave him some nice gifts. The newspaper did a front-page article on him this week, and it was pretty nice. So it was blown up and framed, among other things.

So caesar salad, prime rib sliders, veggies and dip, natchos, and wings. All good.

Jas, what a nice party! It's rare to hear about someone working for the same company for such a long time. They're going to miss him, I bet! Hope he's ready for retirement!

We had leftovers from last night...glued to the TV watching the events in Watertown.

Braised pork steaks in tangy sweet sauce.....tomato paste, beef broth, onions, and brown sugar. I served it with brown rice and lots of steamed broc. Much to my amazement (it was an invention), it was delicious and even better as leftovers.
