Shoes........... strange thing.

I recently bought some Fila running/walking shoes. I always buy a XWide or they will kill my corns. These were a EEEE width but still looked normal size. I wore them 2 weeks they were wonderful, the most comfortable I've had in a long time. Next thing I know my corns are screaming now I can't wear any shoe without pain.

What's with this????? Anyone else with this problem? What shoes DON'T hurt?

Were they too wide and rubbed your corns a bit each time you wore them? I am glad I don't have corns, and I wear Clarks Wide width always. I think they support you from the platform so your foot doesn't move around inside your shoe. No help, most likely. Sore feet are the pits! (Hugs) Nanny

Joann, I've noticed my feet have been sort of swollen since the weather is so hot and humid. Maybe that's your problem. Ouch, I hate shoes that hurt! I notice it especially if I've been on my feet a while.

It would back up if there is a clog in the line. Snake, etc. is the way to go, hoping it's a simple fix. I had a basement shower that did the same thing, since it was the low point. Using the basement kitchen sink in the next room would cause the shower drain to back up, leaving that crud. I snaked unsuccessfully, and then had to use a strong chemical drain opener. (IF you do go that route, use a funnel to pour the chemical into the drain without any splash or anything to etch the nice, shiny metal. One more thing - follow the directions and heed the precautions.)

I see this quite a lot in Garden Centers here in the UK They are bare rooted crowns packed in dry peat in a plastic bag with a cardboard cover complete with picture of a huge mature plant. Sold from autumn onwards they hang on racks inside the centre, normally some sort of glasshouse structure. Come the spring things warm up and they start to sprout. Caught early enough and potted up, following Ken's advice they soon look normal. I wonder how many of these unsold packets end up in bins each year! Dave

Seems odd that the tail is pointing out, not purely sideways, so maybe the idea of a serving as a hook is on track. But it also also looks like it would be a fun garden hose caddy, with the sprayer end hooked over the tail. Maybe not what is was intended for, but a creative re-purpose!

It could be where they are made and the material. Like many other items of clothing, shoes are being made in many countries and not made of the best quality materials. In your case, sounds like the materials ""shrunk""". Can you take them back?

Those shoes look nice but WOW $$$$$.
I have suffered with corns most all my life, it was terrible working and standing on my feet all those years.

Corn removal would mean breaking the toe bones and having wire or something put in. No thanks, I don't need to be laid up.
I can't take the shoes back its way over a month, They are not too big, I think I just needed wider. I usually have to buy them online. I found these at the mall here.
Its just strange how good they felt for 2 weeks then they got bad.

Do you think stretching them with those old-fashioned wood stretcher inserts might help? Here's what I'm thinking of:
(I just picked any old version through froogle.com)

(Or, is there still a "cobbler" or shoe repair shop in your town? That person might be able to stretch them, or at least tell you whether it's possible.)

Are you talking about corns or bunions? A corn is a skin growth, why would need a bone broken to remove a skin growth? I am pretty sure you are confused.
