Margaret entered a cake decorating competition last Feb in Pensacola and won 1st & 2nd medals in the advanced section.

The Mardi Gras cake was 1st

Tea Party 2nd.

The theme was "You are Invited"

Your daughter is certainly talented. She must be swamped with cake orders. I love the Mardi Gra--that's the theme for our family reunion this year but I doubt if our cake will look like that.

Absolutely beautiful she makes it look so easy and I know it is not!!! My niece has taken cake decorating classes and she loves it. Where did your daughter study??

This kitchen is GORGEOUS! It should be in a magazine. Just gorgeous. ...and now I need to clean up my puddle of drool. :) Lyno, there are little heaters that can be installed under cabinets. They kick on when your hot water heat turns on to circulate the water. I wonder if that is what the vents that you are look at are? We are looking into doing that with our kitchen because we are going to have to take out about 12' of hot water baseboard heat and will need something.

Hi Justin. The pics are better, but have some shortcomings, which I'll take a moment to explain in hopes that others may see and forego the errors when they submit pictures in the future... A. is the example of the photos reassembled into a single scene. You can see that the walk doesn't come close to realistically matching up. (If there were other objects in the foreground or background, their locations would seem misleading as well.) B. You can see that there is about a 12' difference (left to right) from the camera position for each shot. C. In general, one is looking to see not just the house, but it's setting. A fair amount of space at the left and right ends of the house should be captured as well. The yellow boxes show how much space I'd like to see and they show the overlap that's necessary so that the viewer can see how the photos relate to one another. To take photos that will be reassembled into a single scene. For all pictures, the camera position must not change. The camera will merely pivot. I almost forgot to mention ... another thing is that the pictures are very small ... about 20 - 25% of optimum size for posting on the forum. If I was to use and enlarge them, the finished product would be quite fuzzy. If there was any way to adjust the camera for a larger picture, it would be helpful.

I'm in CT Zone 6a. I'm sadly trying to start the replacement of some inevitably declining medium and large hemlocks that were half dead (or more) already when I moved in a year ago and I can't afford to have a tree service treat annually - especially given their already poor condition. If the replacement does OK after a few years, I'll have the hemlocks taken down before they completely die (they are severely infected currently) This is the western border of my property (and neighbors house), so the morning sun hits them until it gets overhead around noon, then it's shade under tall limbed up oaks. Those are baby Fargesia Muraliea and Nitida Bamboo in the foreground I will move to accommodate. I definitely have space for a 100'x30' tree, planting at the edge of the grass, then removing the old hemlocks as the replacement gains size. Plus I'm already 50' and am Ok if it's my heirs problem when they are too big 50 years from now lol.

Rosa she started out going to classes at Michael's to get the basic's then some seminar's and now she gets cds or dvd,s from some man thats on tv will find out for you. She is pretty much self taught, if your niece needs any info let me know.

I can sit and quilt for hours but I don't have the patience it takes to make a beautiful cake like that. Or the steady hand LOL

Oh Thank You for posting these picture's! They are so amazing! Margaret has come along way since those first classes at Michael's! It's great you are keeping us updated on her success. LOL... It's wonder that you and Joel didn't gain 50 pounds when she started baking all her practice cakes! I can't wait to see the Wedding cake.

It would be difficult for me to cut into those cakes. I wouldn't have the haert to eat the teapot....it's so cute. Is the cup a cake, too? as in cup-cake???? @:)

Your daughter's creations are indeed amazing! I'm with Sharon. I'd not be able to cut it. She obviously has a special talent to do this. Please tell her we are all ooohing and aahing over them.
