Have you already installed the sink? The quote sounds high to me, but it all depends on the area you live in and the going rate for plumbers. I'd suggest you get other estimates and then make your decision. It could be that you have connections/plumbing that need to be updated, such as a garbage disposal and dishwasher, in addition to the sink and faucet. Ask him his hourly rate and if he can explain what his fee is based on. If you're getting a new sink you probably want a new drain. Not sure what the plumbers here recommend but I've used the lower priced ones with no problem.

Hi library girl, the counters just have Osmo around the sink. I have a towel right below the sink and just wipe up the few drops that get on the counter as soon as I can. Hopefully, it'll just become a habit. We did swap out our old double bowl sink (witch had one smaller swallow side) and faucet that soaked us every time we used the sprayer. With a single bowl with a center drain and faucet that isn't scary, there is a lot less water around the sink in general now. Keeping most of the water in the sink is a totally new experience for us. I'll attach a pic that includes the sink.

My new kitchen faucet is an American Standard and also has this issue. I run the water for about 3 seconds before putting a container under the flow and there is no taste. Hopefully it will go away after a while.

If the manufacturer allows nail/staple down installation of their engineered floor, that should be sufficient. Since your selection is NOT wider than 7.5", the warranty is valid. They won't address any issues with movement or squeaking though. I can imagine there may be a little more sound emanating from the floor but that would be acceptable to me, especially if one considers what would have to be done if your floor was damaged and required removal after being glued and nailed. If I was going to glue the floor down with a full spread adhesive, I see no advantage to nail/staple it also.
