Women Pay More...............

Anyone else see this on Anderson Cooper today?

Women are being charged more for a "Women's" product when the men are getting the same thing for less.
I might just have to buy men's products since they are almost identical.
What gets me is places like the dry cleaners, they charge men a lower price for their pants/shirts and a higher price for ladies pants/shirts just because it's for a women.

We need to start paying more attention to prices. Or ask for a price sheet an compare.

have known for years that women pay to have a busniess suit tailored , while men get it for free! not right at all!

It's always been like that. A pair of jeans are cheaper for men than women. Often hair cuts are cheaper for men, even if a woman likes hers cut short.....no different than cutting a man's head.

When my husband and I married, I brought one young child into the marriage and he brought 3 older ones, although one left after eight months to go to university. We bought a 5 bedroom home together, 50/50. During the years that we were together, his two kids lived with us about 80% of the time, and my daughter was with us about 60% of the time. We split all the household costs, vacations etc. For several years, I made more money, so I bought most of the groceries and all the clothes for the entire family. I also paid for some of his kids' activities. When my income dropped below his, I asked him to contribute to the groceries, and take over the costs of his kids' clothes (although I still bought some). In retrospect, I am glad that we shared the house price 50/50 because a house is an investment that can be recovered. However, I do have some resentment over having paid a greater amount of the other costs. I could use that money now that I am separated to build a better life for myself and my daughter, and his kids aren't the least bit grateful for the wonderful life that they had when we were together. Of course, I'd probably feel differently if my husband had gotten his kids under control, and the marriage had survived.

I have heard of it and have also known people to turn around and walk out. By walking out you may have to send them a missed appointment charge. Then call or chat on line with your insurance company. I would also suggest that you find a different doctor.

I've been wondering this too. I bought some Great White mycorrhizae over the winter and began using it when transplanting. I also snagged a bottle of Myco Blast on clearance at a local garden center, and so I used that on my garden seedlings this year. They really took off with it. I use one or the other whenever I repot, and so far, so good. Mycorrhizae and azomite are the only two additives I use besides fertilizer (FP and osmocote+) in my container mix.

A couple of things to consider.... Where does all this communication wire terminate? You will need a centralized connection center that you can patch lines in for use or remove when not in use. Especially coax and to a lesser degree data cables. Coax runs that are unused just degrade and create noise in your signal to the devices you do use. Its great to have coax to every possible location you may want to use it, unless you're going to design it that its all connected together with no access to change the termination and connections. Bring that wire into a central location, in a star pattern with the option to connect and disconnect the runs that are not in use, it is worth it. Give consideration to WiFi coverage, homes are never setup to install a wifi router in a central location for the best coverage, and most people have horrible wifi coverage in their homes due to the limited locations they can install a wifi wire to connect it with the data and coax connections needed for it and the cable modem. Imagine if the kitchen is in the center, there being a coax, several CAT connections and a 120VAC outlet above a kitchen cabinet to install all that for the best wifi coverage and its up out of the way. Another factor, would every consider installing satellite TV service in the future, or have it as a selling point for future owner of the home? If so, now is the time to setup your coax network for a Satellite install if you elect to do it. If you install the correct wire in the correct way, satellite installers will not have to crawl all over you home destroying it with their hack installation of their coax wiring, they simply have to install the antenna, connect it to the cable you have pre-installed and reconfigure the central hook up for the satellite stb's to be installed at your existing coax drops..... Most people are using the quality RG6 for CATV that meets the spec for satellite, its just good measure to assure reliable CATV and cable modem performance. But what they fail to realize is satellite requires one more thing over CATV, it needs to pass power over the coax cable to power the satellite dish. Currently most DIY'er and Contractors and Retailers are using Copper Clad (coated) steel core (central wire) in their RG6 coax cable. The signal mostly travel overs the surface of the wire, so the copper coating offers the same performance at a much lower cost, than a solid copper core. The solid copper core does offer the tiniest bit less signal loss, but its so little it will never make a difference, so it doesn't justify the higher cost of a solid copper core. EXCEPT, if you using it for Satellite that almost all use power passing over the coax cable to power the satellite dish.... ....electrical power is transmitted through the entire wire not just the surface like the rf signal, and copper is lower resistance than steel, so a copper clad steel core will have a much bigger voltage drop at the end of the coax cable to the Satellite dish and it will perform poorly. So if you want to build in the option for possible satellite, make sure that all the coax is satellite rated (3GHZ swept) and the coax runs to the satellite dish and to the main stb in the places you're likely to install it are solid copper core coax for the power passing. Some satellite systems inject the power at the main splitter/switch for system, which the perfect location for that would be at that central location for all the wiring I spoke of earlier....

One thing that really gets to me also is that the quality of some fabrics on things like T shirts are so much better on mens shirts....the collared Izod type shirts are a world of difference....If I want new t shirts. I go to the mens dept and buy my T's...

Like the Bic pen for her - 30% more but it comes in pink!!!!
A few years back a local reporter went in with her husband to get her haircut. She requested the same cut as him, his $20, hers $45. No blow out or wash.

My DH can get quicker and fast responses from our doctors offices than I can! When kids were in school sometimes he would have to go in and deal with things, because they ignored me;( Car mechanics respond better to men also! I could go on and on!!

It really is a man's world at times!!!

But......men pay more to have items replaced, while women ask questions and have them repaired.

My DH just called, said his boss replaced his whole engine when the oil sending unit went bad.....a $25 part! Yes....I'm serious.....

DH took the alternator in to 3 different places, they all told him it was bad....to replace it, ($120). I took it to an expert, he teaches automotive @ the local college.......it was just a $5 alternator belt. That fixed it.

I have known that for years. My shaver is a mens, my shaving cream is mens, I buy mens golf shirts, and mens jeans for me! Savings for me. ;)

I told hubby just today that I'm going to start looking at men's jeans. Not only is ours more expensive but I go crazy finding them to fit me. No 2 jeans are the same, in the same size. The fit is always different.

Hi OJ. You men have it easy. Hubby's jeans all fit him, no matter the make. He doesn't try them on, he knows that they will fit.

But we woman go crazy trying to find the right fit in whatever size. We can have 2 different sizes and they both might fit.

We were in a store looking at some yoga pants. Simple yoga pants (track pants type pant). He held up the waist of 2 the same size. One was a good inch or two wider than the other. Geesh.

I was in my local big name pharmacy and noticed the shaving cream "for her" in a pink can costs more than regular shave cream.

(yawn) Wah!

Well OJ, remember who winds up footing the bill for a lot of the women's overpayments. I'm reminded of the old saying a woman's work is never done.... since the invention of the television!

Been that way as far back as I can remember. I am surprised AC thinks that is something new!
Haircuts, dry cleaning, clothing prices.... nothing has changed.

It's not some social injustice or gender bias. It's basic economics. The manufacturers/stores calculate exactly what people are willing to pay and that is what they charge. Not a penny more or nobody would buy it and they would not make any money. Men have been shown that they won't pay over a certain price for some items, while women often will.

So the fault is with the people who continue to buy overpriced stuff. There are always alternatives.
