I've used it in my dining room, and really like it. It's subtle but adds interesting effects which vary depending on the light. I also saw mixed reviews but decided to jump in anyway. We put it on one accent wall over a light blue/aqua (it gave it a much more sophisticated look than when the blue paint alone was there). I would do it again. That said - here are the caveats... I think it would be tough to get a good result in a bathroom where you need to cut it in around a lot of detail (it's kind of sloppy to apply, and the criss-cross application with the roller seems it would be tough to achieve in a small space). Our dining wall was perfect because it was essentially a big blank canvas and this was a good backdrop for art. It leaves a slight 'milkiness' even when dry, which is fine on light colors but would probably look uneven on dark. Anyway, I had good luck with it in my situation. Like you said, you can always paint over it...it does leave a slight texture though so if your walls are smooth this would still likely show even if painted over.

Thank you all for the great information. I will try calling some of the stores returned on the BM store finder to ask if they carry RL. My Lowes never carried RL and unfortunately my HD has replaced RL with Martha Stewart. Maybe I can also just search for general paint stores in my city and call to see if they carry RL even though nothing shows up on the RL store finder. I would say the white is really close to a true white. I was specifically looking for a white that would not make my white tiles look dirty or vice versa. RL 'Grand' was really close to the color of the tiles, leaving the tiles just slightly more white. While I would not be concerned if the white isn't exactly what the RL 'Grand' looked like, I was hoping to find the same paint so I do not need to spend weeks trying to decide which white paint to use. I would prefer not to paint multiple times because I do not want to have to remove the fixtures after we install them. (I'm doing the work myself with the help of my father.) I will call around locally to see if anyone carries RL. If that doesn't work out, I will pick up some samples of SW and BM color matching and see if either of them works and is close to the color I want. Thank you all for your help and wisdom.

Thank you cawaps, olychick, raphaellathespanishwaterdog,nosoccermom, jmarino19, and Christy Reves I appreciate the help! the auction is tomorrow. :) The couch is a dark brown, but you would not mistake it for black. the black in the chairs is black, but it is kind of faded (not really faded, but mottled, I don't know what to call it, it is on purpose in the fabric) It does have a brown in the pattern for sure. I did not notice the pattern, It is funny what bugs people. I can be nuts about colors matching a certain way, but mismatched pattern, a picture not quite center or crooked, doesn't phase me! I wonder if that warrants not paying as much. I am surprised I would have thought ralph lauren would have been a better brand. I was able to sit in them. they are BIG chairs, but comfortable. I usually like solid carpets. that red carpet is in the kids play room and is wall to wall. it is a different room from where the chairs will go. Too funny jmarino - was the chair that you were looking at from Jenacks? Here is the picture from the auction site again - I cant tell if you could flip or switch the cushions. Here are a couple of rugs that might be too similar in pattern? but I think they "go" and I do really like one of them...

You will have no luck with anything , unless you go back to whatever brick and mortar you made the purchase. A bench cushion is always harder to maintain, even with a spring down cushion. But there ARE DIFFERENCE IN QUALITY in spring down cushions as well. . We have no idea what the fabric content is on the "velvet" ........and seems you are seeing a smile line at seam joins. Velvet is a tufted woven fabric, and can be made from many fibers, cotton, polyester, silk. I haven't used any EJ Victor in eons, nor Henredon. But I will say that at one time Henredon was quality. That is loooooong gone and many moons ago. Like twenty five years. Today, Henredon is still not up and running following bankruptcy filing by Heritage group . Henredon was split off, along with Thomasville. The more major point is the American furniture industry has struggled. Regulations, rules, , competition from junk imports, a throw away society who wants a sofa in a week for a grand, and a million other reasons. Including a resistance to pay for quality and what it costs to PRODUCE that quality in these United States.
