I have not but was really considering it until I googled it and found that there were more bad reviews than good.

If you can find it at Home Depot it's half off...Try a quart..You can always paint over it...Also check this website .They really know their stuff on all faux painting...They can guide you towards maybe a better alternative...

Thanks for the comments/addtional information on this paint finish. I finally did a search on Garden Web for this product (don't know why I did not do that in the first place). Of the few threads that came up, they were not very positive. I will check out the faux forum.

I've used it in my dining room, and really like it. It's subtle but adds interesting effects which vary depending on the light. I also saw mixed reviews but decided to jump in anyway. We put it on one accent wall over a light blue/aqua (it gave it a much more sophisticated look than when the blue paint alone was there). I would do it again.

That said - here are the caveats... I think it would be tough to get a good result in a bathroom where you need to cut it in around a lot of detail (it's kind of sloppy to apply, and the criss-cross application with the roller seems it would be tough to achieve in a small space). Our dining wall was perfect because it was essentially a big blank canvas and this was a good backdrop for art. It leaves a slight 'milkiness' even when dry, which is fine on light colors but would probably look uneven on dark. Anyway, I had good luck with it in my situation.

Like you said, you can always paint over it...it does leave a slight texture though so if your walls are smooth this would still likely show even if painted over.

As a remodeler, I see quite a bit of faux techniques, and can offer an informed opinion of the Candlelight product from Ralph Lauren.

This is an easy product to use that produces an interesting faux effect that is extremely cost effective to use.

As an application tip, follow the video instruction offered on the web site from Lauren. One difference that I found helpful was to apply the product as suggested in the video by creating two rows of product, blended along the line of transition caused by the end of the roller. But when you begin to create the "X's" to create the faux, allow the roller to be loaded with Less Product. You are using this technique while the product is still wet, so this tip will blend the product in what appears to be a random pattern.

If you can see a line, diffuse it with a little more product and blend. You will get a great result.

Years ago,I used Ralph Lauren_Candlelight Silver paint on the trim through out my downstairs area.Even then, it was very expensive. I love the color and the look it gives the room, but it was truly H*LL to apply. I contacted them and they refunded my money for the paint. However, the paint was so runny and thin, the painter had to put on 4 coats and it streaked a lot. By the time I realized anything, most of the painting was done, and I couldn't afford to pay the painter to strip all of it off. MY ADVISE......Be sure and get a very good painter and let him know about the consistency of the paint before he starts the job. GOOD LUCK !!!!!!
