If it is 61 minutes interval, that eliminates nearby scanning radar (some small boats have that). Audio engineers can tell you that sometimes you can elinmate some interferences by reversing the electric power plug. Obviously you cannot do that with a grounded plug. If someone has a USB sound adapter ($4.00 ebay). You can plug it in your computer and find out if the problenm is the computer's sound card or there is another problem with the computer. There is agood possiblity that the built-in sound card is the problem, a leaky capacitor is a possiblity. CD DVD machines also plug into the sound inputs on the sound card. You can try unplugging the power connection to the CD and DVD and see if that would stop the beep sound. I don't think so, but worth a try. dcarch

I have 2 HP Pavilions at my house and do not have the problem you are experiencing. I did have an issue that my battery would drain to very low charge if the computer was stored for a week. However, my issue was more with the "Window10 operating system than the computer. Something was active when the computer seemed to be shut down. A fully charged battery should be able to keep the BIOS settings alive and the clock/calendar running for many days, probably months. I did find one setting that was causing a drain. About slow to not charging: Two items could be at fault. One is the power supply that is in the power cord. One cord plugs into the household electrical outlet and the other end, carrying DC power goes to the computer. The power supply may be faulty. There has been problems with batteries shorting from over charging or trying to charge a failed battery pack. If a portion of the battery pack has shorted, then its output voltage would be diminished and a charger trying to bring that pack up to voltage overcharges the remaining good cells. If it does not fully charge overnight, there is something amiss. The problem could be the battery pack or the power supply. Our HP Pavilion computers come up to near full charge in 2 to 3 hours. By the way, make sure you did not plug it into a switched outlet that goes dead when you turn the lights off.
