Texas Tour Lockhart (3 pictures)

When we left MaryAnn's on the morning of the 14th we went to Lockhart, TX to meet with DD TX. I met DD TX back 7 years ago when Gabby, Jerri and I did the first Texas Tour. She is such a neat lady and fun to be around.

I wanted to see her again and also have MaryAnn meet her too. She doesn't live far from Lockhart so we met for lunch at Black's BBQ. The food was excellent and we were able to sit and chat for a couple of hours.

It was fun catching up on what has been going on in her life and also to see pictures of her grandkids that we met the first time.

Thanks Diane for coming to see us you are a doll. Love ya bunches.

Thanks BDW, we enjoy the porch, too. I always call it the 'porch' and DH corrects me. "It's not a porch... it's a deck!" Funny man.... but he built it so I 'let' him name it, lol. We spend a lot of our time sitting on the porch swing watching the cardinal and hummingbirds. I've attached a pic of our birdie having his breakfast this morning. I found the little chicks at the dollar store, only it's not a true dollar store. These cost me $1.29 for a mama chicken and four baby chicks. I also sent you an email through your page. I am so excited to see so many of you replying and wanting to meet MaryAnn and I along our route. I wish we could cover the whole state of Texas, man wouldn't that be great fun. lol Donna I honestly don't know where I get the energy. lol Hey it sure beats staying home with the same ole same ole. I just might have to think of another state to do a tour in.

I hope all your travels go well and everyone has fun! It would be so fun to see everyone right now. I've been getting ready for my son's graduation and I'm needing a change of pace. Jolana, the dwarf Barbados cherry pictured is planted in soil that had been improved for roses along the drive way and is about 5 ft by 5 ft. Others in more rocky soil are about 3 x 3, healthy with fruit and flowers, and dark green leaves and no chlorosis -- which is most remarkable in my alkaline soil and water. Glad you found the tree form you've been wanting ... :-) Molly, I've recently planted two Canyon Creek abelias also after falling in love with the one Plantmaven Kathy had! They are growing fast, but haven't bloomed yet.

DeeDee is such a fun person! We had a great time eating bbq and talking.

Moni, I think I've caught up. I was really tired Saturday night and most of the day Sunday, but today I've been up and running!
