No. You can make your browser window smaller, though, to "hide" the margins where the image is.

I use AdBlockPlus in Firefox, it allows you to open a list of all blockable items on a page. Ctrl-Shift-V

One of the items so listed is:

Select and block that specific URL, and reload the page.

I agree, it's just too much!

Also using the no squint add on for firefox you can change a lot of things including colors and size of page and the fonts and all of that it really lets you customize the page. I have mine so that my forum page goes from edge to edge of my monitor so I don't see any of the yellow at all. You can make it so that just a border shows or none at all shows. Plus using adblock plus you get pretty much just what you want and nothing else.

The image isn't in the margins. It's the background of the entire page. I have AdBlockPlus. I'm not getting it in Explorer, just with Firefox.
It's horribly obnoxious.

It's not the background of the front part of the page, you don't see it through the area where the text is. It is essentially a page behind a page. If you adjust the size of the front page, the area where the text is you can stretch out the borders till you no longer see any of the yellow flowers page. It's as if you have two sheets of stationery, one is larger and has flowers on it, the other is smaller, white, and where you write the letter. The smaller sheet gets centered over the flower page so some of the flower page shows but not through the letter page. if you make the white letter page the same size as the flowers page and lay it on top you no longer see the flowers.
That's exactly what you can do using the no squint add on. You stretch out the edges of the top text page till no yellow shows.
I see no yellow once the page has loaded, and I didn't block the image with ad block. So there's two ways to fix it.

Huh? Back ground image.... I don't have one.... I feel deprived.

ahhhh...I beg to differ with you. The black text replies are over the top of the yellow daffodils.

chemocurl - it must be different for different browsers.

I'm on Firefox and my text is on white, just like it always is. I didn't even notice the daffodils until I read this post because I only have about an inch of yellow on each side. I only have a border. I'll have to try Raven's No squint add on.

Deprived, I tell ya, that is what I am deprived! No daffs what so ever... just scrolled down, up and back down...

Sorry Moni - I have daffodills blooming in my yard :)

I followed Bob's advice and just blocked the daffodils on my AdBlock Plus. All gone!

Apparently it's definitely different, I have multiple browsers on multiple operating systems, Windows, Linux, Android, but on none of them do I see the yellow with the text written on the yellow, all show the forum text on white.
I just tried it on Android using Firefox, Chrome, Dolphin, UCHD, and stock. I can't get any with the yellow and text on top.
That's strange.

That is completely different alright. All of the area with text and the stuff on the right side are all on white background for all of mine.
That's very strange and would really be hurting my eyes too.

That's nothing like what I see - the daffs are on the edge and it's just there, doesn't interfere with the forum page at all. Strange how different computers see different things.

Here's what I see, my screen capture.

At the very top right corner I can see a little bit of a yellow flower.
As the page begins to load for me I see a full page with nothing but the flowers then the "second layer" comes up with the text and other pictures and covers up the flowers page. Then I see what is in that above screen capture.

Mine is the same as ravencajuns.Doesn't bother me,but if I saw all of that daff like some of you do,i couldn't handle that either.

Mine is the same as ravencajun also...on my iPad 4 (Safari browser).

Nothing obnoxious here. I rarely even notice the colors as they change them. But to check, I just grabbed the RIGHT BORDER (yellow) with the mouse, and dragged it to the LEFT, until the yellow was gone. Simple enough.

mine only shows the flowers about 2" on each side, the rest is white.
