I am looking lazy compared to you.. You know Larry has been gone most of the week so I have just been doing what I have wanted to do... Today I am going to do some special cooking for his return tomorrow. I am also going to work in my yard. It looks to be a pretty day outside.

Tomorrow we have another granddaughter's birthday party. It is the last in a string of 7 of them within 8 weeks. Kendall is 2..

I have been working on Mother's Day, too. I get each of our daughter's something special plus some money to buy their Spring flowers. They always look forwrd to this.. All three are wonderful Moms.

Busy ladies! Tomorrow is the baby shower for my new grandchild. I'm still working on the "sea turtle" hooked wall hanging I'm making for him/her, and that's what I'll be doing today. I'm pretty sure it'll be finished enough to bring to the shower.

I'm being lazy and happy to be doing so! My oldest DSis and BIL came yesterday and spent the night before leaving to go back to Indiana for the summer. We had a great visit and having company is always a good excuse to clean house really good. So I was busy all week cleaning and cooking.

We had a simple dinner last night. My brown sugar meat loaf (huge it with BIL), potato casserole, cooked fresh carrots and rolls. Dessert was Irish creme oreo pie and I made cinnamon rolls (Nodakgal's recipe) for breakfast this morning.

Need to work on next weeks menus. I've found doing that works pretty well for me. Not as much waste or $$ at the grocery.

Wish I had a piece of your raspberry pie, Sue.

Susie, that's sweet of you to make Mother's Day special for your daughters.

DH had to work today, so I'm here in the suburbs. Did some cleaning and straightening--in hopes that someone will come through to look at the house. This afternoon, will be watching the hocky game (GO FLYERS!). Once that's over, we'll be cutting the postage-stamp-sized front yard here. Then we'll be packing up the truck with another load to go to the country. Early tomorrow we'll head there. I noticed on Wed, when I was there, that the huge yard we have there needs a good cutting, so we'll each fire up a lawnmower, and work around the house until we meet out front. Between travel, unpacking and grasscutting, that should probably take most of tomorrow. Maybe we'll call DD and offer to take her out to dinner once we're back in the suburbs.

We're having a three day weekend of beautiful weather here in Long Island (68 and sunny Friday, same or warmer Sat and Sunday.) So I'll be out there gardening. Yesterday I pruned a dogwood tree in the front yard, just sawed off some dead branches, and started planting perennials. Planed yellow bleeding hearts and scattered 5 packages of wildflower seeds. More on saturday and Sunday. But going out grocery shopping first. Our cupboard is bare , as is the refrigerator.

After I run some errands, library, grocery. I will be working on clearing out part of the garage I have set up as a studio. I just piled things in there last few weeks. Then hopefully later today or tomorrow I can get back to throwing some clay. I haven't made anything since last Christmas time and I want to get some things done quickly to take when I head to CA in mid June to visit some friends and family.

We are doing spring clean up in the yard, clearing flower beds, cutting grass.......happy the weather is warming up but it is only dry for the day then cooler and wet.....g'rrrrrrr.

I'm going to pot up some flowers for the deck, add a fern or two, get some more solar lights to string up over the flowers, and try to move our rock "waterfall" fountain behind the flowers with ferns on either side of it. I think that will be pretty for summer. Then I'll add a comfy chair and table and it will be ready for warm weather.

Tomorrow, back to work I go.

Had to do some baking since today is our Garden Club yearly sale of plants, baked goods and garage sale items. Went in early to the sale picked up a lot of plants to add to the yard, helped out for a while and just got back home. Nice day for the sale, a bit overcast with a nice breeze around 80 now.

Later will plant the plants I got and run some errands and pick up groceries.
Tomorrow I have no plans.

Like I posted, sitting here waiting until the blizzard/snow storm stops. Lots of roads closed and DD and family due to fly home tomarrow flight cancelled and not another one until Thur. What a mess.

Celebrating my 80th birthday with family...Mary

I'm taking a short nature hike tomorrow lead by a naturalist. At last, we have a little bit of spring nature to look at. Its been above freezing for the last 5 days. I expect to find skunk cabbage at the place we are going. The robins are hungry. They have been looking long and hard for their kind of food in my backyard and there isn't much there, yet. The migrating warblers are passing through.
