Went to town today to pick up some groceries. Getting ready for church meeting tomorrow as I am secretary for 20 churches represented. Have to give mini training session at the meeting. No rain yet, but expect colder weather next week.'

We just got notice that my husband's mother was admitted to the heart hospital for fluid around the heart. They are going to attempt to drain the fluid and hopefully determine what the cause is. She is 91 so these kinds of things are so serious. She was feeling fine, then had a dizzy spell and fell down. Her doctor ran test and discovered the fluid.
We will be sitting here on pins and needles waiting for news. At times like these we wish we were closer.

If you have a spare prayer she could use it.

My prayers are going out to you and your family too Raven. I just found out I have to work tomorrow and see if I can switch shifts and work on Sunday too. That way I will have next weekend off. If not working then I will be going to church and not much after that.

So sorry Raven, thinking of you. Going to try and go to a Bugs (VW), Brew and BBQ festival tomorrow, then the Texans vs Seattle game Sunday! I took the boot off of my foot, it was driving me crazy, will see how much walking I can do.

We are going to DD#2's house tomorrow evening her and her BF, once a month do a supper club with their pals~~it is their turn Sat., they have turned it into a beer fest~~they brew their own beer and are opening 5 new flavors tomorrow. Her BF and my son turned a small frezzer into a kegarator~~they can fit in two pony kegs. They have it all hooked up to sickets (sp) they attached to the outside~~~crazy huh?

We are excited my 2 oldest gkids (22 and 20) are coming
with my son and his wife~~~we do not get to see the kids that much so it will be a treat;)

She went through surgery and the surgeon said it went well, so we wait and see if more fluid builds up and if they can find out what is causing it.

My new friend and I are going to New York City to attend an opera at the Met. He will be meeting my daughters for the first time while we are there. I am excited.

Woke up early Saturday, did a load of laundry, hung stuff outside to dry. Yay me! I'll clean the kitchen next. It's a mess because I didn't clean up after dinner last night. Rest of the weekend I'm not sure.

Raven, glad Mom is doing okay.

First I better get off my butt, shower and dress. I need to vacuum out my car because I have been moving plants around and there is still sand in the trunk from my visit to the Cape. The ooutside needs a good washing. Funny how you don't see the dirt on a silver car. My beloved dark green Honda showed everything, but I miss that car.

I also will head over to the Nature Trail at a local college for a walk in the beautiful weather.

My garage needs to be straightened out, too. I am trying to do outdoor stuff before the cold weather sets in, but that won't be for another six weeks. I will yank out a few annuals that have given up the ghost and do some trimming.

Every Sunday I have dinner with my mother. She is 96. She does the cooking and we clean up. She is incredibly energetic.

Working on the rental.....putting trim boards(mahogany) around the stair sides....hauling gravel to put on the side of the house were the shed was we tore down.....

Talked to mother in law, she is feeling better, but they still want to keep her in the hospital for a few more days to monitor the situation.

Preparation for a friend who is coming to spend her vacation here with us. So happy to get to see her.

dh golfed but was home by 1...he showered, re dressed for soccer game in the boonies! love the grands, but won't do that again! the good thng? we drove by Fuddruckers hamburger place and stopped for dinner! had my usual, 1/3 (the smallest) "made" a salad from the shredded lettuce and tomato, and we share onion rings....I swear they have the best burger!

Fran1523 - going to the Met to see an opera - color me jealous! ;-) I have always wanted to go to the Met. What opera did you see? The closest I have gotten to the Met is seeing it on the movie Moonstruck (one of my absolute favorites). As you may know, the opera La Boheme was seen by the characters played by Cher and Nicolas Cage in that movie.

Thank you, Minnie, I will. She is pretty amazing.

Ending the weekend by watching the finale of Breaking Bad. Ten minutes until it starts!

It's hot here, so today I've been moving slowly cleaning out a closet that holds some Christmas decorations, some other seasonal decor, a few bottles of wine, some unidentified boxes and some books, plus lots of dust and dead insects. It's been a while since this closet was emptied and vacuumed out. Ick!

Yesterday I went to a memorial service for someone in my church. Main reason I wanted to go was the the brass band was playing Beatles songs during the service. A request from the deceased. At the end of the service it was announced that the decedent, who lived like a pauper, left a 1.1 million dollar endowment to the church to be used for mission trips here and abroad. We were all shocked that he had emassed sure a large amount of money.
