Best price on K-Cups.

Does anyone on the list use K-cups for a single cup coffee brewer? I have ordered a Keurig and want to find the best deal on Green Mountain K-cups. The brewer does come with a single cup adapter for using my own coffee, but if I can get affordable single servings I will use them. Buying the Keurig is my answer to save money on almost daily visits to Dunkin' Donuts. I have promised myself that I will use the brewer and fill my travel mug BEFORE I leave the house.

I've seen them on QVC for a fairly good price.

I like Kenoza Coffee, www.kenozacoffee.com. I live near by so I've never used their shipping so can't comment on the shipping cost but their K-cup prices are great and they let you "build a box" so you can pick what you want in each box. They have been in business for 40+ years so are reputable.

Amazon: 2 boxes of 24 count each, typically $23, and its Subscribe and Save service gets that down to $19.55 for 48 k-cups, free shipping & no sales tax. Subscribe & Save lets me specify delivery frequency every month, 2 months, 3 months, or 6 months, and I can always jump in and get my order sooner, later, or cancel it with no chargeback. I wait for the best price or sale and then order a huge number of cups. I used to hold out for 39 cent cups, but that price is long gone with the current price of coffee. I drink only two cups a day and rationalize that I am not wasting any extra coffee that I might need to make a Mr. single cup. I buy only Green Mountain. At two cups a day I figure I can consider it a small indulgence. I have a really big box containing my most recent order stored on top of my dryer which is on top of my wahser. This box will last about 6 months and I don't find the coffee to taste stale when I get down to the last individual box. Those other K cups aren't to be envied. We have the Cuisinart (partnered with Keurig) and it takes the K cups. Ours has a very large water reservoir and a 3-year waranty, which are two of the reasons we got the Cuisinart. We love it! I buy the K cups at Bed, Bath & Beyond with a 20% off coupon or at Kohl's when they have a % off promotion. If you work the sales you can get the K cups for around 40 cents a cup. I won't pay regular price for them because they can be too expensive. I rarely buy them at the grocery store because they're too expensive even if they're on sale. I've used the "your choice" filter piece that comes with the unit, where you use your own coffee and it's okay but not as good as the K cups...somehow it loses something in the translation LOL. I like the Donut Shop coffee from the Coffee People for breakfast and the darker roasts like Newman's Own, Emeril's Big Easy Bold or Green Mountain French Roast when I want a little more kick. We have the Pumpkin Spice and Hazelnut for when we want a flavored coffee. We thought the Pumpkin Spice would be nice at Thanksgiving. I'm not familiar with the industrial makers. Did you buy it through a commercial restaurant distributor?

My 4 cup maker is easy to make 1 cup. I can make "1 cup" in my 12 cup maker either. I find it hilarious that people think that a larger maker must be full. They must also think you can't drive a 6 seat car unless it's full of people! People are gullible to no end. Keurig is nothing unique. It's the biggest sell job/fad since the pet rock. It's also easy to make any amount in a percolator and you'll get better coffee from a good percolator than any Keurig IMO. Only a fraction of people who have Keurigs have even heard of cleaning them. Every time I see those things with the used, wet, mildewed soon to be moldy used pods sitting in them I gag and wonder how people like drinking that. Disgusting. Everyone I know who has them finds them to last at best a little over a year. For that kind of money I laugh at them and ask how much they paid for their pet rock and other gimmicks. One friend argues "OH it makes SUCH GOOD coffee!!!!!" Yeah, then 6 months later it's not so good. And they always ask for coffee when they're here because my coffee "is so good!" Plus I see many people who have gotten tired of the fad and realize that most people want more than a single cup, especially if they entertain so they buy a real coffeemaker to go with it. The novelty of standing in line for each person to make their own "single cup" has worn off in a lot of places. If people really want to pay $100 or more for something that does nothing more than a $10-$30 appliance, and then pay anywhere from 40¢ to $1.00+ for each of the pods, no problem, they can go ahead and throw their money away for a status symbol. Just don't try to tell me it does things that it doesn't and don't try to tell me it's better or easier or can't be done with the other things. I don't need a microwave toaster or a Keurig. I do much better without.

BB&B with your 20% off coupon. My friend says her target unit price is 46 cents.

I'd love some more recommendations on good coffees, as my wife is forcing me to buy a Keurig, probably today.

How does a Keurig differ from Senseo? And are the pods exchangable?

We are fortunate enough to have two Keurig machines here in my office. The Green Mt. coffee is the best - I have bought their whole beans in the past when shipping was much cheaper. They are now offering FREE SHIPPING on the Green Mt. web site with $2 off every box of cups when you join their Cafe Express Club. I like their Lake & Lodge blend.

Amazon will discount if you sign up for automatic redelivery. I don't know how competitive their prices are, but it might be worth checking.

LindaC, Keurig uses little cups that look like large individual creamers and Senseo uses flat wider ones..

Well I just came home with my $160 toy. (The $199 B70, with BB&B 20% off.) Primed it, made my first cup of coffee, Timothy's Italian Blend. It was, well, no better than any other coffee I've had out of one of these things. Oh well, as long as it makes DW happy I suppose I'm happy. Maybe one of the varieties will strike a chord.

For what my opinion is worth--Green Mountain and Dunkin Donuts coffees are really special. If I find I can't afford to buy their K-cups I will get bags of their coffee and use the K-cup adaptor.

Thanks Mudlady - there are a few GM's in the sample pack, so I look forward to trying. I think my prior post sounded way more negative than I meant. It's just that for the money I wish I could get a "great" cup of coffee. But the convenience certainly can't be beat, and it wasn't a bad cup by any stretch.

Well this morning I'm feeling better about my purchase. Had a Green Mountain extra bold blend which was very good, wife had their breakfast blend and sound very happy as well. :)

I also use www.coffeegiant.com and www.keurig.com. Usually look to see who has what on sale. I especially like CoffeeGiant because you can buy by the case and they very frequently offer free shipping and you get your order in record time.
