Please share pics of your kids/guest bathroom.
Comments (2)It's hard to get a good pic but our kids bath/guest bathroom is 5 feet wide and about 9 feet long including the bath tub. We had the white builder porcelain square tiles, resurfaced tub but instead of oak it was a white laminate cabinet and a 1950's light fixture that could give your Hollywood lights a run for the money. My kids are the same age as yours and so far they love the changes. We've had some great discussions about when to use 60 minutes, 30 minutes or 20 etc. with the fan timer switch:) Having the shower niche to keep the bottles off the ledges of the tub and the thermostatic valve (keeping the temperature constant) have probably been the biggest day-to-day improvement. It was so nice not to get complaints that the water was cold when I was rinsing hair and the Grohe Movario "Champagne" setting is perfect for rinsing hair. We opted for Silestone countertop which should hopefully be low maintainence. Before After...See Moreshow me pics of your 4x5 bathroom
Comments (4)I think the key is a big mirror and overly-adequate lighting (an overhead light plus bright sconces). Shiny surfaces like tile or metallic wallpaper would also help. These aren't mine, but are all interesting small (windowless?) powder rooms: okay, this one has a window but its one of my favorite powder rooms ever! or you could embrace the dark and go for rich and cozy...See MoreShow me pics of your mixed hardware in your bathroom please!
Comments (12)ummm, I haven't any. I put up bn look command hooks for the wet towels on the face of the shower as a temporary measure until I could decide on what to get. I only have one place (in that huge bathroom) where I could hang a bar, but the area ended up being a few inches narrower than I thought and am worried about it (a bar) encroaching on the space where the toilet is. I've got my eye on the tp holder that matches the faucets. It's brushed nickel and since it would be on a painted wall, i think it would look better than the orb. But can't commit until I decide about a towel bar for sure and the matching towel bar sets out too far from the wall for that space. So I am pretending that someday I'll figure it out - until then the tp sits on the back of the toilet. I am the only user, so it's fine....See MorePlease help me hang my bathroom mirror
Comments (21)On pure aesthetics the lower example pleased my eye more, and then I read your post! Imagine that .... I'll tell you what would please my eye even more -- being able to see myself! (vanity, thy name is ME) I think it's a more interesting composition having the mirror lower, and I think it's even more interesting if you're able to see yourself. But scrolling back up and reading others responses I am just one in a long line who feels this way. How do you feel? And on a totally different topic, I am so envious of your grand piano. I play exceedingly poorly and I've lived without a piano for years, but a girl can dream .... My two year-old has recently discovered the piano (at a little play class we take together), and watching him tickle (okay, pound) the ivories made me emotional. (I'm studying the banjo and already the two year-old makes prettier sounds on it than I!) So with your outdoor fireplace and your indoor piano I am going to live vicariously through you! amysrq, my hero!...See Morebirdgardner
