Water Hammer Arresters for Shower

Hi,

I'm going to be piping in the valves for a new shower this weekend (hopefully). I'm wondering if and how many of those Oatey water hammer arresters I should use.

The supply will be through Ipex Aqua (same as Kitec) and transition to copper before getting to the thermostatic valve (temperature control only). After that the pipe will branch off to two seperate volume control valves (Kohler quarter turn) using the pressure balanced loop configruration that Dan has used on the show a few times. One volume control valve will be for the main shower head and the other for a rainhead. I'm going to try and make all of the turns with 45's rather than 90's for better flow (apparently).

My question is where I should locate the water hammer arresters? Should I have one on each branch before each volume control valve or will a single one before (or at) the branch be adequate? Do they make 1/2" copper cross's ( + shape)? If so I could use one and place it right at the branch off.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have attempted to attach a sketch.
