Good Morning All

Is everyone up and bright eyed and busy-tailed!

I have been up for some time. I've had to put a Lidoderm patch on my knee. It started hurting when I got up from the the supper table last night. Thought it would be better this a.m. but no. I will still be off and "running" well off and limping this morning. Shopping to do. How is everyone else doing?

What is a lipoderm patch? Maybe I could use that on this ankle that is still hurting.

It is a patch that contains lidocaine 5%. It is a prescription patch. They can be cut to fit the area that is sore. You can't wear them all the time, 12 hours on 24 hours off are my instructions. Some they don't help, but they really help me when I need it the most. You would have to ask your doctor about them.

Im so sorry to hear about your tumor being inoperable...my thoughts are with you. As far as your dog not eating, it could be a number of possibilities. Is he getting food elsewhere? Is it possible he is reacting to your condition and not just the loss of his buddies? It could be the loss of his buddies...It could be the food you got turned bad... Most of my dogs have not been food oriented which means getting a big bag of rice, some hamburger and chicken from costco and some canned dog food from Trader Joes. I also bought Natural Balance duck and potato meat sticks which is a huge hit with every dog I know. My dog taught my friends dogs to not eat it until it was completely dried out - like jerky - weird....Good luck with your pup, if the vet says it is not physical then maybe a trip to the dog park or even just fostering a dog for a hort time might help....Good luck in whatever you do. My best to you and yours.

Good afternoon everybody! We had a busy morning and I've been resting my tired feet. DH had to have blood work in town this morning so we went early and afterwards went to Sam's to stock up on meat. I think we have enough to last about 6 weeks now. We got-- Steaks - 4 filets. Cut way back on our beef intake so when we have a steak we want a good one. Don't eat a lot so those 4 will be 4 meals for us. Pork chops--9 1" boneless. They were marked down, too. Chicken breasts - 7 or 8. Boneless, skinless. Good for the grill. Salmon - a large piece that will be at least 3 meals worth. Pork roast - in an applewood bacon marinade. It's a little large but I can save it for company. Hamburger - 5 lbs. Roasted chicken - tonights dinner and tomorrow's chicken enchiladas. After Sam's we went to Lowe's. They had a drill on sale and DH really needed a new one. I wanted paint samples for the main bath. I'm thinking dusty rose but all the colors either look like pepto bismol or lavendar. Got a replacement for our outside coach light. Then we went to Publix. Hopefully I won't have to go back for a while since I stocked up on fresh fruit and veggies and some canned stuff in case of a hurricane. Now I need a nap since I woke up at 3:45!

I just put a few baking potatoes in my portable oven on the porch, even though it is cool here and only expect to get into the seventies by noon. Then threw in a load of whites between KT posts and now am about to walk around the block (1 mile). I'm going to use the potatoes for potato skins (ya know, baked again with cheese & add sour cream and bacon pieces later) and use the potato pulp for baked potato soup. So that means I got to start frying some bacon for the soup when I get back from my walk. Half of the bacon I'll use for the calico beans that I'm making for Fourth of July pot luck. Have some phone calls to make this afternoon. Big day for hubby. He is signing legal documents later on today to sell his business that he built for the last 30 years. We will be getting payments and not drawing from his retirement accounts for several more years. But in essence he will be retired at age 53. A lot of our friends are surprised that he can do this but I'm not; it's been in the plans for decades. Slow and steady wins the race!

I'm going to play outside all day today.

There are beds to be cleaned, Preened and mulched among other things.

I plan to work with my Daffodil and Spring Bulbs spreadsheet and log info and take some pics too.

Good morning. I've been up and going for awhile. I went to town and visited with a friend for a little while, picked up my mail and came home to eat breakfast. I'm thinking about calling a friend to see if she wants to have lunch today. Don't have any other plans other than some laundry and a litle housework.

Well, morning is almost over, it's almost noon....DH and I have been busy this morning, just getting the house in order...He's quite a helper..In fact, I sometimes think he does more around the house than I do....I have some food shopping to do and then need to get material to make Easter curtains for my DD's post office...(It's a very small PO and she just was made post mistress and is trying to decorate for every season.)
Our weather here in SW. Pa isn't the nicest but I think the rain might be over and it's trying to brighten up....Tomorrow we're to have a great day.....
