Hi, What direction is the lr window facing and the deck on? Do you have a nice view to look at out the window? Do you need to have the window treatment closed for privacy or sun?? Is there a fireplace with the media cabinet? Is the furniture drawn to scale? I think I'd move the area rug further down, and possibly put it on an angle. I see this as kind of like a family room, correct? Could you add a round game table and 4 chairs on the lower end? Would that be the room you would possibly go to make puzzles, play cards, etc.?? It would be helpful to see some pics of what your furniture looks like, wall height, etc. Do you need storage for games, books, etc? Do you have a foyer closet? I think a lot depends on your decorating style too. Do you like antiques? over-stuffed furniture? Would book cases or an armoire that is a rather stately looking piece be something that could be added for storage and interest? Sorry about all the questions, but hard to know what to suggest.

Your gardens and patio are beautiful. They look like a perfect retreat to relax. A few options for the furniture if you are still playing. First thoughts for the patio furniture on the higher patio. Embrace the sofa in front of window. It keeps your pathway from door clear. Place the coffee table so that one can reach to place a drink. Place the two chairs on each end facing each other on the short ends of coffee table. There are two thoughts for placement of the table and chairs on the lower patio. Pull the table out from the herb garden wall and turn the table so the short end follows the line. I can't tell from pics but that wall might make a nice seating area too if needed for the table. What is the cream/grey item behind dining chair on right side? Does it stay there? The other option is to put the table in the center area of patio. You mentioned not wanting to block the view but since the window is higher it might just work. Place it long ways to help the eye follow right out into the yard. For the space out in the yard (3 chairs shown there now) some outdoor curtains or shade cloth would make it even more private. The love seat could go there with 2 chairs again placed on each end. I would get a skinny rectangular table to put in front of the window (to be near the grill) and then I would get four chairs to put in a circle with a round table in the middle in front of the sliding doors.

Oh dear. Now I see why the confusion. Husband wasn’t quite finished with the build of fireplace when I took the picture. In this picture you can see fireplace better With the side boxes. It will have two side boxes...one for fire wood. One for the grill and tools stored inside the box. But you are correct, many places near house to put the grill. Then carry food to wherever we put an eating table. The issue with the patio near house is there is bright hot sun especially summer evenings, and it obstructs our beautiful view from inside the house. This picture is from right outside our bedroom, which was going to be screened in but we decided we don’t need the screen.
