My vet says she gives her dog pb. It's jus tlike anything else- in moderation it is ok but too much can lead to pancreatitis. When I give my boys PB, I give them just a few licks or just a dab of it.

I give my boys & girls a taste every once in a while. I really think I like watching them eat it more than they like the peanut butter.. But Quirky is right. Moderation is the key. I get a spoonful from the jar, transfer it to my index finger and wipe it on the roof of their mouth. So funny to watch them licking it off. They really do like it though.

Too much of anything is bad for your pups, but mixing a bt of PB into a kong with some carrots and other veggies

Two of my 4 dogs take pills twice a day and we always give them in pb. Once in a while in some cheese. My vet said it was fine. Of course the other two always get a lick off the spoon as well.

Is there ANYTHING you can't get a dog to do with a bit of PB? I don't think there is. It's the secret weapon for training and persuading dogs to do things the ordinarily wouldn't want to do.

I give PB either smeared on other treats, or melted and mixed with kibbles and veggies, and then frozen in a kong. Only ever about a teaspoon. And not often.

All 4 of my dogs get PB every single morning. It was bad when there was a batch of PB with salmonella in it. Otherwise it's fine, as long as your dog is not allergic and doesn't have a condition that is salt-sensitive.

I wonder if those who feed their dogs raw chicken have their eyes and ears turned on.

Gosh, I sure hope not!! My dog had a stubborn UTI this summer and was on antibiotics for over a month - I hid each pill in PB and he looked sooooo forward to that daily treat! When my vet suggested I buy their expensive pill pockets I said I was using PB instead, and she didn't say anything negative about it. And Tucker seems just fine.

My vet has suggested dipping pills in PB so I don't think you need to worry. What's that song... just a spoonful of sugar makes the medicine go do-own, medicine go down. Just a spoon full of sugar makes the medicine go down........

They are going to love tomorrow! I usually give them salmon skin for various treats but I'm sure they will enjoy a pb taste.

My new dogs act like I'm killing them putting the flea stuff on their back, jumping and jerking around.

A tip I learned on here, smear a blob of peanut butter on the washing machine. As they stand still to lick it I can apply the treatment. Roxy licks really fast so I have to be quick.

I do that when plucking ear hair. Sometimes when giving a bath too. Like I said there isn't much you can't get a dog to do with pb. It's the ultimate bargaining chip for stubborn furbabies.

Moderation is key, my pomeranian pup Meeko just wont eat it period. He loves ice cubes though!
