How did your Easter/holiday go?

Mine started early, on the internet at THS > Finance and > KT.

Started a loaf of bread about 3:00, to be ready at 7:00, went to bed ... up at 7.

The cats were disappointed: "Usually on his first visit to the drive-shed, we get fed. This morning (granted ... it was rather early) he just opened the big door ... got into the darn car ... and drove off! No feed for us ... maybe none for him, either? We had to wait till some after noon ... which I guess, to be fair, isn't too unusual".

A few at "sunrise" (8:00 a.m.) prayer service ... then breakfast (I took a loaf of fresh-made bread... with all of the exotic muffins, cakes, scones, quiche, mixed fruit salad, etc. ... not one slice was eaten).

At morning service, minister referred to a man who went early to the beach, threw living starfish back out to sea ... that God's like a star-thrower, preserving life ... and wants us to be star-throwers, as well. Preswerving life (that was supposed to have been just "preserving" ... but I guess that the starfish would agree that a "swerve" comes in to life, on occasion ... as would most of us).

Our minister, pursuing Doctor of Ministry degree, has just returned from three months' sabbatical, was working part of the time on her thesis: it's good to have her back.

We have a student intern, Ravi Sativihari, who has Indian/Hindu background, including meditative experience and nearing readiness for ordination in The United Church of Canada (Methodists, most Presbyterians and Congregational Christians joined in 1925, Evangelical United Brethren joined later) ... he'll be leaving, and we're sorry to see him go.

Drug store was open, I got some milk, as I'd thought that I might not be in town for a few days ... but forgot that I have an investment group meeting tomorrow night.

I'd been rather disgusted with myself, as I had a very popular book on 7-day restricted loan from the library, no holds or renewals ... and $2.00/day late fee (usually 15 cents) that was due Sat. and the librarian said that as long as it's in their return chute by opening Tues. morn. (they're always closed Mon.), I'm clear ... so had planned to take it with me this morning ... but forgot ... so I thought that a special trip (at more than $2.00) was in the cards ... till I remembered the meeting tomorrow night ... near a library.

Did the first wash in weeks yesterday (nice to have some extras of essentials), rather chilly, took in first load late afternoon - fresh clothing for today. Warmer today, hung out yesterday's second load.

Went to bed for a nap, got up after dark - they're still hanging.

Neighbours invited me for supper, but they're having 25 or so family, will be busy ... so I'll go another day.

I hope that you all have an uplifting, memorable week. Give a smile and a pleasant word to many that you meet ... with many being quite downcast and worried about various problems, they'll appreciate an extra ray of sunshine brought into their day.

ole...
