... and it all depends on what brand and base. Silver Sage is just like Tobacco Road -- not all formulas are created equal. Paint stores like to go with the theory that the human eye can not distinguish the diff between formulas. That you can arrive at the 'same color' via many different combinations of colorant. Turns out that theory often gets shot all to hell when you paint out an entire room. The best match to the original Silver Sage color chip is from Ben Moore and mixed interior Regal Matte. I hesitate to use a word like 'always' but it sure seems that SW's version of Silver Sage always comes out with a strong green edge -- and that's not what the original SS looked like at all.

My gut feeling is to go with the RH paint since they have created a color palette that is foolproof in matching colors. I have RH Silver Sage and also used RH Latte in another room. I do like the lighter SW Rice Grain you chose. Have you done wall board samples to compare them yet? How the different brands play with the light coming in through the windows, and how they look under evening incandescent light will make a difference.

Thank you all for your opinions! I read over everyones responses and am so excited to get the paint and move forward! It has taken me over a month to decide on the colors - I had three other colors picked out and for some reason put off buying the paint when I made my "final" decision. Then I found sivler sage... thank goodness I didn't go with the other colors. So I am doing silver sage in the hall/kitchen/family room and RH Latte in the dining room/living room that is just off the kitchen. I do have a powder room just off the hallyway / kitchen area - do you think a lighter version of silver sage would be too much? thank again everyone! seeing the photos and hearing your expert opinions was a huge help in confiming my decision!

Our master bedroom was already painted Restoration Hardware Silver Sage when we bought the house, and we love the color! We are finally looking to purchase new bedding, and I'd like to bring in a throw blanket or quilt for the end of the bed, as well as either matching shams or throw pillows, that are a close match to the Silver Sage wall color. I definitely want the blanket and pillows to match each other perfectly (so from the same collection as one another). Does anyone have any suggestions? I've found a few throw blankets that online look to be a similar color to the Silver Sage, but none had matching pillows or shams.
