Hmmm...well, I don't consider my knives gadget/appliances, so I'd have to say the burr coffee grinder and my tea kettle. Those are used every day, sometimes twice a day. And I've already sang the praises of Chantal tea kettles here, so I won't bore everyone with that again. :)

My FoodSaver vacuum sealer, for protecting any and all good leftovers. I probably use it 4-6 times a day.

(Small) Appliance would be a toss up between the KA mixer and food processor and the gadget would be my microplane.

Although I really, really wanted a mini-Cuisinart, I was afraid it might not do enough to 'earn its' keep' in our storage-challenged kitchen. But it's turned out to be an amazing little tool! I use garlic and fresh herbs frequently, and it minces them in seconds. It's great for chopping nuts, making breadcrumbs, crushing crackers and cereal for toppings and mixing homemade salad dressings. Rarely does a meal get prepared around here that it doesn't help ease the prep. And the storage problem solved itself, because this little puppy sits on the counter so it's always ready to rock and roll! :)

Not sure if they're my most-used gadgets, but for the most-loved and most-efficient, it's a three-way tie between microplane, instant-read digital thermometer and a wonderful big skimmer for soups and broth.

favorite of the moment - and most used appliance: Instant hot for coffee every morning, but also for a million little chores whenever I'm in the kitchen. I just used it to melt yesterday's wax off the Chanukia (menorah for Chanukah).

Gadget, hmm? that changes all the time, certainly scissors get used a lot. I have a big shears and little tiny scissor for snipping herbs and lots of other small chores. But a gadget I really have grown fond of recently is the kitchen ruler that doubles as a hook to pull out the oven rack and push it back in. It was $2 at a small local shop.

Coffee pot is not an appliance........I consider it an Activity Of Daily Living.

So, my most used appliance is probably the food processor (or microwave).

Gadget? Do rubber spatulas count? I can go through 3-5/day sometimes. Love those babies!
If not, then my kitchen scissors or cutting boards.

Gadget=hummmm, let's see, I love them all. Well the asparagus peeler is losing favor.

Appliance, I am sorry to say with all the cool stuff I own, I use the microwave the most. It is so handy for boiling water quickly or thawing things I forgot to take out of the freezer (a daily occurrence).

Gadget, I use at least a dozen measuring cups or spoons a day! I have two set of cups for solids, three sets of spoons and two adjustable spoons and 5 liquid cups, and my wonder cup. I even use use an adjustable measuring spoon to feed my bunny!

Only two, and the coffee maker and microwave don't count? Oh, good.

The coffee grinder is another one used every day. Right now it's just a small GE, but I'm hoping for a nicer one for Christmas, if Santa thinks I've been good enough.

I also don't know what I'd do without my electric frypan, though I do not use it every day like the above 3 things.

Yes, rubber spatulas - I use them so much I forgot to mention them. The skinny one for getting mayo or mustard out of the jar, the scoopish ones for scraping out mixing bowls and cleaning the last bits from saute pans. Love them!

Coffee grinder is now used for cloves, cardomon and allspice, I like those spices in the cooler weather. Sometimes I use the grinder for fresh herbs like rosemary and thyme. I guess it has become a fav small appliance too.

I stopped grinding coffee a while ago. I get a pound of freshly roasted and ground beans once a week and keep it in a tightly sealed glass jar in the freezer.

Coffee pot, but that's not for cooking! Mine would be the toaster oven. Heating the big oven takes too long and with just 2 of us isn't usually needed.

Are rubber spatulas and tongs and spatulas gadgets? They feel like tools to me! Pretty hard to cook without them.

Lately I've been using my stick blender a lot because I've been making soups. Is that a gadget or an appliance? I'll count it as neither and start over.

Appliance: I use the electric tea kettle that SheShebop sent me every day!

Gadget: Tea strainer that Ann_T sent me as a gift. I use this every day also!

So now it sounds like I drink tea all day and only eat soup.

my tea pot - it's used every day, several times a day. i like my tea water "hard" boiled and there's nothing like the scream of the kettle.

i guess for appliance, i'd have to say the stove, otherwise, how would i boil my water?

I have three that I wouldn't want to have to do without. My Wolfgang Puck pannini maker, his reversible grill griddle and now my showtime rotisserie. I haven't cooked stove top in months.

Other things would be a stand mixer and a chopper.

LOL ... I thought I was the only one that turned her coffee grinder into an herb/spice grinder. I buy a small bag of freshly ground a week now also. I especially like the coffee grinder for my cinnamon sticks and cloves.
