I did notice that in my research. It was my understanding that all roses can be planted here in zone 4, just that some need more extensive winter protection? I may be wrong, I guess. I was going off of midwestgardentips.com... I really hope I am not wrong there. If anything, couldn't I plant it in a planter and bring it into my basement in the winters? and we are kind of zone 5, zone 4- depends on which calculator/online tool thing I use. On the map we sit directly on the line, and there are patches of areas zone 5 within the 4 that is near us. I don't know- I am very new at all this. :) the other roses I am interested in are purely for aesthetic purposes, no sentimental attraction, so they will all be hardy for this area... but I was really hoping to get a GS rose, too.

I have a girl scout. We still sell door to door. The girls are required to take a parent with them even when you are selling on your street and know the neighbors. For the last two years, we have been given cookies instead of taking orders. It is more difficult to pull a wagon around with a variety of cookies boxes. We don't always have time to go door to door when the weather is nice. We also do booths in front of stores. The stores have to give permission. I'm sure there have been some complaints because some of the stores have put restrictions on selling. Pammyfaye, my dad agreed with you about cookie sales. He would never take stuff like that to work to sell it. Dh does take cookies to work, but he just leaves them in the break rooom on the honor system or gives them away. I try not to pimp my kids for fundraisers. I know various organizations need money so usually I just donate money instead of doing the fundraiser. Girl Scout cookies are something people request so I let dd sell them. She will never be a high seller because I don't believe in going to extremes to sell.

My DD got her silver award and I don't even remember what she did to get it! I found a really good site with lots of ideas at one time, I will see if I can find it again. I haven't tasted the "Toffeetastic" cookies but TBH just about every gluten free commercially produced cookie I've tasted is indeed a "gluten free wasteland". A home economics class I used to assist did make some really good gluten free chocolate chip cookies but they're the only ones I've ever tasted that I would eat on purpose. Glad to see Mike Rowe's watchers responded to the tune of over 7,000 boxes of Girl Scout Cookies. I'd love to see that lot being delivered :-)
