I have two that are my favorites. The first is the Thin Mint. I also love the Shortbread, BUT only the ones the Wilderness Road Council sale. I like other shortbreads, but LOVE the ones from WRC.

Thin mints and lemonadas. I also like the shortbread cookies. I ordered some of both this year from a friend's granddaughter. Then Lauren brought home a brochure so I guess I'll buy some from her too.

Samoas, but I think they gave them a new name this year.

My DD just an hour or so ago come by and brought me two boxes of GS cookies. A Thin Mint and a PB Patties.

Hard to say which is my favorite.

I also like the Samoas.

Thin mint! I wish I could find them elsewhere so I could buy them all year long! I'll buy 10 boxes at a time, with the intent of making them last. Truth is, I eat all 10 boxes within a couple weeks.

I don't know the name. They're the chewy, chocolate, coconut cookies. Yum yum yum. I could (too easily) eat the whole box.

Samoas are also my favorite.

My favorites are probably the peanut butter ones, but they're all good.

I guess it's the mint, but they're not like they were a long time ago. They changed companies that made them and they're nowhere near as good as before. And I haven't had any in a long time now so I don't know if they've improved. Don't find anyone around here selling them anymore. Used to see them set up at the stores but not anymore so I'm not even sure what they have anymore.

The Samoas used to be my favorite, but the ones that are sold here in northern California are now made by a different bakery, and they're not the same. For one thing, the chocolate is different - it's not the dark chocolate from the "good" Samoas. Totally changes the taste, and I don't like the new ones at all.

So, I think I'd have to say the shortbread cookies are my favorites.

I've been told California won't allow you to sell cookies with any trans-fat. The cookies from that bakery are healthier but don't have the same taste.

Just give me one box of good, but bad for me,Samoas!

Hands down Samoas!!! AAAAAND they have out a limited edition GS ice cream!! I stock up when I can. Here, here, danihoney, I can eat a whole box all by myself, too. I buy several and freeze them so I can only eat one (cookie) at a time and savor it.

Don't buy them, cause I'd eat the whole box.

My dd joined girl scouts this year. We have several types of cookies here. My favorite has always been thin mint. The Samoas are a lot sweeter than I remember.

Coming out of lurkdom to tell you how to make your own thin mints and pb patties. Super easy..

Thin mints

Take a block of almond bark melting chocolate (doesn't contain almonds, just the name). Melt in the top of a double boiler. You can add a tbs or so of shortening to thin it if you'd like. Add a few drops peppermint oil (not extract). Stir. Dip ritz crackers in one at a time and let dry on parchment paper (or wax, or quick release foil).
Instant girl scout cookies.

PB patties:
(Easiest way): Put a bunch of smooth peanut butter into a heavy duty zip loc bag. Snip a corner of the bag. Put a splat between two ritz crackers. Refrigerate cookies for an hour or so. Melt almond bark (again, you can add shortening if needed). Stir til smooth. Dip sandwich cookies into it. Dry on parchment paper...
These are MUCH better than the gs variety. My dh cannot be trusted when I make these.

It has always been and will forever be thin mints!

Once they quit carrying the Scot Teas (made by the Burry Co.) I couldn't care less about GS cookies. We know longer have GSs going door to door in my neighborhood but I buy a box or two of whatever looks ok from the stands just to support them.
As a former leader and mother of a GS it saddens me to see them stuck with such an inferior product these days. DD used to be able to sells as many as a dozen boxes to some people year after year. The Scot Teas were actually the hottest sellers (for her) and the Thin Mints came in second.

Walmart's Thin Mints are just as good if not better and available year round.

Thin Mints are mine... But I remember when the boxes were sooo much larger and sold for 50 cents... but I'm older than dirt.. But if you're a former [or still active] Girl Scout -- here's a quiz for you!
