Idol tonight 3/16

I thought it was a pretty good show. I think the singers with the best voices are Stefano, Jacob and Pia. I still love Paul, although he was a little off tonight (and boy were those jeans tight lol). James was great too!

I didn't think the girls were all that good (maybe it was song choices?). The judges liked Lauren, but I didn't... the song kind of dragged IMO. Casey was kind of scary tonight.. I didn't like his song choice at all.

I think we may see 3 girls in the bottom 3 again tomorrow. Maybe Naima, Haley and Thia?

Casey was not in tune tonight. Paul? He is so off tune most times, and he acts drunk on stage I don't get the judges like of him. He's just weird.
Pia did well as usual, and Lauren tried too hard, as did Jacob. I think, they think if they scream loud enough it's a winner. Liked James a lot.
Nothing really special tonight though.

I liked James, too. Thia continues to do nothing for me. I agree about Lauren. The judges raved over her, but I thought she was off pitch and just . . . off. And I love that song. She said she had the flu, which is hard to believe unless it was the tail end of it.

I realized I'd never heard the Nirvana anthem. Where have I been? I'll be happy never to hear it again, but I was glad to see Casey performing after his health crises.

I must be one of the few Haley fans. Randy (I think) criticized her for her song choices (too many different styles), but I've heard him criticize others for the opposite ("Break out of your comfort zone!"). I hope she stays for a while because I enjoy her performances.

For me, at least, Jacob's voice is losing its charm. I'll probably like it again if he goes back to jazz standards.

Maybe it's going to be something like they do on some of the dance competition shows, where the judges vote is added somehow to the public vote? I know-I'm curious as well, to see what Simon was hinting at. Guess after 8 seasons, they feel they have to keep the surprises coming, so the show doesn't taper off. I just think it's a hoot that every major network originally turned down that show--just look what they're missing out on! Of course, if it had been done by anyone but Fox, it probably would have been off the air long ago--Fox really knows how to get their mileage out of something like that--LOL!

I missed Naima's performance, and I wanted to hear her. I was thinking that Thia Megia had some pitch problems, but then Steven Tyler immediately said she was pitch perfect. I have a pretty good musical ear, but I'm willing to concede the argument to Steven. I wasn't thrilled with her, though. I agree that Lauren Alaina, at 16, is a complete natural. I think she'll go far in the competition. I disagreed with Jennifer's assessment that Lauren Turner (?) was holding back in her performance. I'm unfamiliar with the song she sang, but it seemed to me that she put everything into it. I also disagreed with Randy when he said Haley didn't bring anything unique to the Alicia Keys song ("Falling in and Out of Love"). I thought she really made it her own. I missed some others in the first half hour. I read that somebody sang the Fiona Apple song "Criminal," which I would have liked have heard because I like it. I liked Pia's performance. I wondered if the standing ovation was entirely in response to her song, or maybe partly inspired by the fact that she was the last singer. I thought she did a good job, though. I wasn't bored. :-) PS: How does the wild card thing work?

my top fave guy is still Casey Abrams love the red hair and that Jennifer said he was sexy. He said he was out to prove guys that look like him can be sexy. I think he is very cute and that voice is awesome very talented guy. I actually was with the judges in shedding a tear when Jacob Lusk sang he is one of those wow singers. Scotty he will be a country music star no matter what happens on Idol. james Durbin kicked it in gear. He is going to be the rocker for sure. Paul McDonald loved his rendition of Maggie Mae, so quirky in voice and movement but very appealing. I think the definite go home was Jordan Dorsey and he thinks so highly of himself too, after making every one audition just to be in his group that group night, I knew he was going to be a fail. Love the judges, they are doing a great job.

I don't consider Rhianna a great singer. All her songs have that echo effect which I think makes her sound better than she is. As for Mike who could have been voted off, though he's a good singer, I think they should have let him go. He doesn't bring anything different to the stage like Crystal, Casey, and that funky girl do. Everything he sings sounds the same and to me, a REAL singer, can change things up a bit. They should have saved the vote for another person, and I think they will wish they had later.

No mention of Scott? I think (vocally) he, by far, is the most in tune, in pitch, in control. I am not a huge country music fan, but I am completely wowed that he has this voice and he is 17. I don't think he will have the "following" to win it all -- but I'd be surprised if were not already being sought by record producers.

I love Scotty. He is my absolute favorite. With Lauren and Jacob next on my favorites list.

I don't much care for Haley and think she should have gone home last week.

Casey was awful and not just this week. I don't know what they see in him.

Karen and Pia both have great voices. Pia sounds like she should sing in a Disney show. She has a "princess" voice.

I love being able to vote online. I quit voting by phone years ago since it was almost impossible to get through.

I have to say overall this is the best group they have had in years. Maybe losing Simon wasn't such a bad thing after all. I really like Jennifer and Steven as judges. Maybe we should replace Randy "The Dawg" Jackson too.

Casey is still my fave, love the way he takes the big chances and so do the judges, he has amazing talent as a musician as well as singer, he is not the cookie cutter singer, we have seen too many of those.

I liked James again, and also Scotty he is right on track with the country he is doing.

Naima was awful, all over the place.
I was impressed with Stephano this time too he did a decent job.

I like Paul but not last night I could tell his flu really affected his voice.

Every year they all end up with the flu and it spreads from one to the other then all over again, they should put them all on heavy vitamin C and put hand sanitizer all over that house.

poor Haley and the lip stick all over her face, teeth and mike, LOL at Ryan trying to wipe it off with spit and a tissue.
