LindaC-Thanks for gift exchange idea

I have to go to one tomorrow night and the last time I went I was shunned (I think) because I gave a bottle of Baileys. Heck, I'd like my gift, but proper etiquette prevented me from choosing my own. So last year I bought 2 breast cancer awareness mugs but my friend didn't have it. So this year, with my $20 limit, I bought a glass christmas tree cookie jar from Marshalls and filled it wih 12 snowflake shortbread cookies (thank you SharonB) and about a dozen triple brownie cookies with andes peppermint chips on top. (Thank you Ghiradelli brownie mix). I hope it goes over well. It is a Yankee swap, so it should be fun.

Looks good to me....would a lot rather have that then the jangly bracelet with the plastic christmas balls hanging on it!
But then...if it's food I'm there!! LOL!
And they can fill the tree and "re-gift" it next year.

Darling idea and it looks beautiful all packaged up!! I'd love to get something like this!

Did you crush the Andes Candy Canes yourself or do they come in chip form? I've not seen chips and wondered if maybe I missed it.

Oh dear, Mimi. That's exactly why Kirk posted it over here first. A lot of people don't know about it. (I didn't for the longest time, but never asked!) Hmm, put all the names into a hat and draw them out one by one. The first name gives to the second name, the second name gives to the third name, and so on. The last name drawn gives to the first name. If there are kids, you can separate them into their own section and do the same. Hope this helps!

The andes chips are not what I expected. They are the texture and firmness of chocolate bark. They look great on chocolate cookies, but I was disappointed that the package depicts them as crisply white and red. Not a chance. You can find them in the baking supply area (at least at Walmart). More runny pink. But thanks for the compliments.

Jo - great job - wish I was the recipient!

I, too, was disappointed in those Andes mint chips. I wasn't expecting them to be soft.
