How would you fix this? off center lighting

I have a chandelier to hang over kitchen table however the present fixture is WAY off center. I thought about one of those medallions but they are too small to get it to the center of the table. We have an open layout with vaulted ceilings. There also is texture on the ceiling that I could not match.

what if you turn the table in the opposite direction -- it would make it closer to centered.

You could swag it over, but when you hang the chandelier you'll need to make sure the ceiling area can handle the weight. More than likely, bracing will need to be put in.

If the location can be moved, without the need of a junction box, I'd vote for that. Unless you have a popcorn ceiling, most textures can be matched. Paint matching would be another story,.

I've swagged fixtures using hooks, no problem. They mke a type that pops open then you push them up into the ceiling. But, if this is permanent, I'd have an electrician come in and move the electric box.

I agree with Beth and M.E. Light the island with 1 larger or 3 smaller clear or light toned pendants with a metal finish of your choice to match your theme or hardware, or hood, etc. Center it to the island, so that you can illuminate that work/visiting space. It looks like you can pull off 3, because your island looks larger. I am doing the same thing in my farmhouse kitchen right now. I have a very small island though, so will do only one medium sized pendant, and I have no real focal point in the kitchen, so I am going matte black with it, grey cabinets, white quartz countertops, and antique brass hardware. Design wise, it might be a bit tall, unless you are adding a shelf. I make my niches about 18" high to fit my Costco sized Neutrogena bodywash bottles! The other important dimension in a niche is the depth, which can end up too narrow once the tile is installed. Before I remodeled I had one niche that was too narrow, but had the correct slope, so anything you placed on the niche would eventually slide out and fall! Yours looks like it might be too narrow ...

I agree that curtains are making the situation worse. They look pretty bad hung as they are, too low and too wide. Even if you raise them above the window, which would be better, but even then, they highlight the fact that the rod is not centered on the arch. I'd use just a shade the same color as wall (once it's painted the ceiling color). Then move the TV over to center of the blank wall.

I don't know why you couldn't try to match the ceiling texture. Even if its a little off, that's a whole lot less annoying than an off center fixture.

Would some type of track lighting work?

Or, if you moved the light fixture and weren't able to match the ceiling texture or paint could you put in a couple strategically placed faux beams or some ceiling molding?
