Kitchen table off center from French doors and how to you swag a light

We are extending our island and want to move out kitchen table over 9" to make sure we do not have too small an aisle way between the new island and the table. We have plenty of room to do this, however the table is currently is centered with our French doors and this would make it 9" off center. We'd have to move the light fixture over as well so that it is centered over the table. The light fixture is currently centered with the French door. Will it look terrible to have the table off center from the door if we adjust the fixture? Also, how do you swag a light fixture and get adequate support? My husband is worried that if we just out a hook the weight of the fixture would pull it out of the wall as the hook would not be in a spot where we have a stud.
