I'm almost finished all my shopping, Meredith is a problem, she says she wants world peace!

Not too much going on here this weekend but then it's insane for 10 days straight! We do have to go to my niece's Christmas Concert tomorrow night but they are calling for a serious snow storm . She really wants us to come but it's 1 1/2 hours away so the little darlin' may have to be disappointed!

Sunday we'll go get the tree but we won't decorate it until Thursday when Chris and Amity can be here. I'll also be making a batch of my ravioli to take to a dinner party next weekend and a batch of spanikopita for entertaining here. Might make some spiced nuts and sour cream walnuts as well.

That is so neat - how many boarders will you have this holiday?

I'm trying to think a bit about food, too. Scott and I will go to Buffalo next week, weather permitting and get Will the gecko that he wants for Christmas - and I will be able to get some dinner items in Wegmans. YEA!!!!! I love that store.

I'm thinking of switching things up a bit this year and making a couple of big beef tenderloins - maybe stuffed - maybe bacon wrapped...not sure how anyone will feel about not having the regular thing though.

We got about half a foot of snow yesterday - less than what they predicted - but are supposedly in for more tomorrow night and Sunday - like another foot or more. I will not complain knowing what some of us are going through. As long as we don't lose power, I like getting the snow.

So, even if I had big weekend plans, I would be leary, with that forecast.

Scott is due in late tonight from Mount Vernon. Will has requested wings.

I'm wrapping, cleaning, baking, shopping. (well, I SHOULD be cleaning heh heh..)

I've got some more cookies and candy to bake before we leave on Saturday for KY to pick up my 2 new puppies. I am now packing the truck.

A very good friend of mine in Savannah, GA, called this morning and her sweet female Rottweiler, 11yo, is very ill. She was crying so hard I could hardly understand her but I knew exactly what she was saying. I just hate it when my friends need me and the miles separate us.

Stacy, I am doing exactly what you are - LOL. I always seem to take on a baking "project/challenge" for myself when I really should be cleaning a bathroom...problem is no one else is doing it so I just get myself behind!

Well, I am still fighting bronchitis and now a sinus infection - boy still has a cough but not as bad - nose still running. I know alot of people here have the same - it is awful - it just feels like my head is going to pop and I can't take anything that helps! It is turning into pure misery!

MY SIL offered to watch the kids tomorrow and we are going to a place called Restaurant Depot - she is a member and giving us her card. I have ramekins, a microplane and lobster ravioli on my list so far! Going to talk DH into taking us to Plattdeutsch for lunch. It is decorated so nice for the holidays.

Sunday is supposed to be breakfast with Santa at the firehouse but looks like we are getting an other Nor'easter.

Meanwhile my son needs a butt wipe and Grace just spit up all over my new Uggs that I got with my b'day money from my dad. Keeping it real!

Duane I need to mine to the car wash too. The other day I closed the panel to the sunroof and DH noticed some dog hair static-electricied onto it. We got a lint roller tout suite, LOL.

Right now I'm waiting for the cable guy - our complex is switching providers and we need to be hooked up by end of the month. I had no milk so I made a run to Starbucks and HELLO! Is everyone off work today? Place was jammed at 9:45AM, as was the Trader Joe's parking lot.

Tomorrow I'm missing the L.A. get-together as we decided to host the annual company holiday party at my house instead of at a restaurant. Ran out of restaurants we hadn't done it at, and anyway it's nicer this way because people will be able to linger and talk.

Sunday is ping pong. Last week my instructor told me my forehand was perfect - finally - it's only taken lessons every week since August! Then he went right into complaining about my backhand. Oh well... Practice tonight at the local place that rents out the robots that lobs balls at you.

After Sunday lessons, members of the club usually go out to eat (and drink), so we've made some great new friends that way.

I wish I lived in a big house with a yard - I'd love to go into the dog care business.

Stacy you're right....I'm sure it was Friday just two days ago! The weekend is rushing towards me like a freight train as our houseguest arrives Sunday evening and although we've prepared his room....all my stuff including Christmas gifts was piled up in there and it's now piled up in another room, so that's another mess to sort out. I've defrosted the fridge but still have to wipe it out and sort things and make room on one shelf as our friend brings some of his sausages from Germany with him (my fridge is so small and I need every corner so I don't know how we'll manage for Christmas dinners.)

Today was also Wolf's birthday so before I left the house for my Pilates class I was blowing up balloons and arranging streamers all over the dining room, wrapping his gifts and putting together a floor lamp for him that came disassembled in a box. Once that was done I ran to the bakery to buy pieces of raspberry cake which we'll have with our evening coffee, along with candles for him to blow out. It all looked very nice when finished and I left him sleeping in so he could open gifts when I came home.

After Pilates I had a coffee with the ladies of the class and our instructors. One of my classmates used to run a deli and frozen food shop. Although that's now closed, she can't stop baking and brought mince tarts the other day and shortbread today for us to nibble with our coffee.

duane--i think everyone on the northeast coast was hunkered down after our fun drive home last night! i expected the roads to be slick but that "ooblick" falling from the sky just kept glomming on to the windshield and wipers. my trip is only about 22 miles or so and i had to stop twice on the way home to clean the wiper blades so i could see!

enjoy the wegman's trip stacy--i'd love to go along with you as that is such a neat store. not much you can't find in there, is there?

sorry to hear you aren't feeling well, maggie. and i certainly hope your new footwear cleans up to your satisfaction. maybe grace didn't understand that "uggs" was a brand name and not a statement :)

congrats, gina! i knew you had been working hard on your game but your teacher said your stroke was perfect? it just doesn't get any better than that--congrats to you!

glad to hear that meredith continues to challenge you, chase. you wouldn't have it any other way, would you? we bought our tree last weekend and it's still sitting in a snow bank...

michelle--i sure hope you add snow chains and kitty litter to your list, should you decide to continue on your jaunt this weekend. the weather reports look absolutely horrid right now! good luck with your decision!

rearranging and cleaning up are what's on my weekend list. gotta make room for the tree and get the christmas cards ready for monday's mail. those 2 little tasks will really take way longer than they should but i sort of look forward to it. hope everyone in our part of the world stays off the road if you don't absolutely have to be out and about--enjoy!
