TGIF!

(can't believe I remembered to type '08 instead of '07)

I love the positive note this thread always has, so I'm going to jump in and start this week's.

As mentioned on my Dr. Phil-like thread, my 15 yr old is away this weekend on a school trip. The 12 yr old has a school dance (I'm told he's a 7th grade hottie...YIKES! LOL).

Mackenzie and I will, hopefully, do some baking tonight. Tomorrow night is the big football game, which we're watching at Brendan's house. I know much of the country doesn't want to hear it, but....GO PATS!!!!

Sunday, hopefully more baking, and maybe I'll get back to the gym this weekend.

Have a great weekend, everybody. Be safe.

*clink* (with a protein drink for now...glass of wine tonight)

Great to see you back to this side Lori. Have a wonderful girls night in tonight. Oh yeah and who or what are the Pats? LOL

On my way up to the cottage in about a half hour. Having friends up for the weekend. Hopefully there is still lots of snow there becasue they want to go skiing, but the weather has been so mild. No matter we will figure out a way to wile away the time.

    Have a great weekend everyone!

Hello everyone. The girls are down at my sis's for the weekend. I tease that we share custody with them. My DS and her husband are Rhiannon's godparents and she has spent part of everyother weekend every week since she was a baby. SO just DH and Hayden and me at home. But we have boys and girls basketball games tonight and tomorrow night to go to so will be cheering on the Warriors. Since my oldest is 4 I will be going to games for the next 20 years since DH is the Athletic Director and has to attend games. So that and cleaning and organizing are the plans

Also will go down and pick up the girls on Sunday and hopefully my nephew Aiden will be out of the hospital. Thank you everyone for all the prayers and good thoughts. He has been breastfeeding like crazy and things are looking up. Hayden wasn't much bigger (7 ounces) so I have washed up and taken down all his preemie sized clothes.

I did post an update if you want to see Aiden. It is scary how much he looks like my Hayden though;)

Great week of quotes. I thought about how bright the stars were here tonight when I was taking the dog out for his last walk tonight. We've been having glorious fall weather here. I'm just wondering how long it can last.

Linda, congratulations on the "pre-exam"! I got my Property/Casualty License in CO & remember stressing over the tests. Relax...you'll do great! Congrats to Erin, as well! What a wonderful Mother's Day present...can't do better than watching a child graduate! Enjoy the perennial sale. Annie, WOW! Your first anniversary already...I'm going to go back & look at the pixs again. It was a wonderful wedding & Annie, I'm so glad your Dad lived to see the smile on your face that day. Enjoy the Elvis concert. What a hoot. I think it's a fun present! Judy, another graduation! Congratulations to both your son & his finance. My DDIL also has her degree in music. She's a very cultured SAHM...rofl. Actually, DDIL's done something fun with her degree (if not profitable!)...she teaches a community music class to pre-schoolers. She's a pianist but since the third child was born she's not playing as frequently. :( I love listening to her play. We're going on our annual Mother's Day excursion to Newbury Perennials followed by lunch in Newburyport tomorrow. This will be our 9th year. This will be my first Mother's Day without any of the kids coming for a visit. Jobs have scattered our little family. BUT, our oldest daughter's DH is a diver on the oil rigs in the Gulf. They live in Houston & he ships out of LA. He's not been getting as much work & has just accepted an assignment in Norfolk for the next four months. After that, it seems likely he'll be offered a permanent job diving either in Norfolk or in Boston. We're trying not to get too excited but it sure would be great having them closer! Happy Mother's Day to all of the mothers. And, for Heaven's Sake, let's hope the rain finally stops! My white garden fence has turned almost totally green this week...enough already! /tricia

Well, TGIS. The heat has let up here in Brooklyn so I went to the park with my son. The intention was just to get in a walk before the heat ratcheted up again, but when we got as far ass the Boat House we found the Park Rangers putting canoes in the Lull Water - free for anyone who wanted one. Well off we shoved! The surface of the water was covered in bright green Duck Weed, evidently a byproduct of the floride in the water and photosynthesis. It is pretty once you understand that it is a natural process and not some form of pollution. We glided over lily pads with yellow blooms, and past duck families, little turtles, and under a lovely overpass. We kept our distance from the swans because the rangers warned us that they tend to attack the canoes. We watch Canada Geese landing and taking off in and over the water. The clouds were forming overhead for a heavy rain shower and we returned to the boat house just minutes before the deluge. My son left to meet a friend and I got soaked on the walk home but it was well worth it. Imagine, I live in the middle of an urban environment and took a walk through the woods, past waterfalls and over a lake and then rowed a canoe across lily pads to where the turtles, ducks, geese and swans make their homes. Its a wonderland and I feel very lucky to live here. At home we had a simple lunch of bottled borsht to which I added home roasted beets and a dollop of yogurt; rye bread, cheese and a little smoked salmon. Simple but perfect. Now its time to take an afternoon nap and see friends this evening. I'll raise my iced coffee glass for a clink-clink and happy, peaceful weekend to all.

Clinking with a beer! Took the day off work to put a water pump on my truck. Last one only lasted 60,000 miles. Cheaper then a new truck I guess. Waiting for the engine to cool down so it is safe to work on. Probably mow some grass later and maybe a trip to the bar tonight. Working the weekend. Started my day with a long angry e-mail to our top manager so it will be ugly when I get back. Some of my guys were wrote up because managers didn't have time to meet with them for the last two years. Makes me angry because all they have to do is ask and my guys will do... simple as that. Now I have a bunch of workers that are frightened and angry. Great teamwork from our support staff.... not! Maybe I had better switch to whiskey. : ) lyra

Lori great to see your post over here. *hugs* Okay I'll route for your team... Go Pats! (who are they anyway? hahahah!)

Sharon, have a great time at the cottage!!

Me? Working for the appliance company today answering the phones and scheduling appts. It's a busy time of year. Yikes!!

Hubs and I will most likely go out for dinner tonight; not sure where yet.

On Sunday, Hubs and I are planning a small trip to a Tiki Bar for afternoon drinkies and a late lunch but that's it.

    Have a terrific weekend everyone!!

Good to see you back Lori! And yes - GOOOOOOOOO PAAAAAAAAAAAAAATS! Wooooooooo Hoooooooooooo!

DS#2 and I were both up a bunch last night - seems we have some ugly virus or something, so we will be laying low today. I will probably get the last boxes of Xmas stuff put away and do some light house cleaning. Not sure if I will go out with my friends tonight or not - depends on how I feel.

Tomorrow is my company party (yes, I went back to work full time which is why I haven't been around much the last couple of months). Rather than have a "holiday" party, they have a Celebration of Excellence - lots of awards, speeches, etc so I really won't be too sorry if I miss it. Sunday DH leaves for a week long business/training trip - If I can maintain my sanity next week working full time as a single mom I will ABSOLUTELY be cutting loose next Friday. LOL!

Happiness to all and have a safe and happy weekend!

Lori, have fun baking and watching the game. You've come through a difficult week an deserve a BIG glass of wine tonight...TGIF!

Sharon, I'm sending fresh powder your way....right this minute. We got about 6" over night.

    Stacie...enjoy the weekend.

Shaun...a special TGIF to you, can't imagine trying to schedule appliance repairs and delivery's...

Alexa, sorry you aren't up to par but going out to consume extra fluids might be needed...:))
I wondered why you had been quiet...

Me...this has been my first week of non-working since last May. I'm looking forward to getting alot accomplished over the next few months.
Kim has a milestone B-Day today, the BIG 50!!!! She decided the menu and I'm cooking tonight. Yes, plenty of booze is on the menu...
The rest of the weekend should be pretty quiet except during that football game.

Top 'o the Friday morning to you all!

It's the second day of the new semester of school. I ended up with a 4.0 GPA last semester (that's something to be proud of, eh?). Today is my Garde Manger class (that's cold foods to the uninitiated). Yesterday was baking. Next week I have Advanced Food Prep. and Dining Room Operations. Yee haw. My mind is whirling already.

Lori - so good to see you here. Big squishy hugs to you.
Sorry, but I HATE the Pats. Cheaters!!! I'm the dissenter here, I see.

Alexa - hope you feel better.

After school I'll be making Jessy's Aunt Sadie's Chicken and my daughter and I will attempt to put together a 500-piece puzzle. Another girl's night in.

Everyone - I'm clinking to you all with my coffee - tonight it will be with a strawberry milkshake!

I'm taking DGS to Dinosaur World where I'm sure I will be dining on concession food if that's what Beau wants--it's all about Beau!

I think I have to work. Burned two days vacation visiting a sick friend this week so I won't get much of a check if I don't.... not that I get much of a check anyway. My house is so trashed it ain't funny. Dolly Dog got out of her area while I was at work. No major damage but she shredded a styrofoam cup and the cat's scratch pad. No chew marks but all my shoes got lined up on the couch. Darn census idiots sent me some gubment forms that must be done asap or they will arrest me. Same info I report to the IRS so I can't even lie to them. Should have listened to my mother and become a bum and a drunk.

Michael has been the dominant personality for a few days so the tractor got drove and the truck got worked on. Starting to yeild to the Lyra side so the housework and computer repairs are more apt to get done now. Really need to cook something good but I don't know what that is yet. Dieting again so eating is low priority.

The "Pats" must be a sports teams so yes they can go. Go Pats go. If they make Lori happy they can even come back sometime.

I can't believe it is friday again. Really...forgot to take the trash out because I totally lost track of the day...and off goes the truck. Oh well. 2 weeks worth next week, unless I do the same trick again.

Lori, congrats on making it through the first week back to work. You are awesome!

Not much happening here. The house is back to semi-normalcy after the holidays and we just have our own pets here...which is nice. Got a part-time job for the weekends, but it don't start yet. Which means my 'regular' job will get busy as he## and stress me out big-time.

Lyra/Michael....you are hysterical. Laughing my rear end off over several of your comments, particularly the football one. Funny, very funny indeed.

Nancy, we could use some snow down here. Two days in the 60's took care of what we did have, not that I am complaining after our last 200.00 heat bill. Yikes!

I'm trying to cut back on calories, which isn't too tough. Haven't had much of an appetite. Unusual I know.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Hey Lori. Good to see you here and sounding pretty darn good. Since the Iggles have no chance this season, I will root for Pats for you. The only team i refuse to root for ever is Dallas.

I could be getting a cold so that will help me decide how to spend the weekend.

I may be giving blood this afternoon, depending on how I feel. I have RH negative blood so I am in demand.

Last night I took down the tree and dragged it out to the curb. All the needles and remaining decorations are awaiting my attention. Clean up, pack up and put away. As someone said, there is nothing so over as Christmas.

I have a list of movies I'd like to see -- Charlie Wilson's War, Great Debaters, Kite Runner, The Orphanage (except it's scary). I saw Juno and LOVED it. So I will scare up a friend or two to go along to a movie. I still have a Netflix dvd waiting for me, too.

Then the usual visit to Mom to see how she's doing. Maybe I'll polish off the last of her Christmas cookies.

What else. I have a bunch of things to do for the Library Board since I was just inducted as president of the Board.

Sure is shaping up to be an exciting and fun-filled weekend. I may even cut up the big branch that fell on my front lawn. Woo hoo!

Go Pats! I almost always cheer for the Pats in the post season now, that's because the Bears rarely make it this far now. Not like the good ole days when I was younger and they were "The Monsters of the Midway". How could anyone not like the Patriots? Just cause they were taping signals? They paid their $500,000 fine. I'm a White Sox fan so I hear stuff like that all the time. At least it wasn't anything that required jail time!

Were having a quiet weekend. We were suppose to go to a Meet the Deans reception tomorrow for U if I, but they sent out an e-mail saying they were full. I guess having people send the responses to an automated site while the school was closed may not have been a great idea. I'm going to the eye doctor later, hope I don't need bifocals! And tomorrow I am hoping to get my puzzle caddy I have been waiting for since mid December. Yeah! Oh yes, tonight is Pack Wars at the local sport card shop, it is a blast. There will probably be a Pats question!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Lori, big hugs to you and MacKenzie this weekend. As for the Patriots, well, I'll cheer for them, just for you. Heck, between the fist fights, the steroid use, the arrests, fixing games, strikes and whatever else I don't think anyone believes that professional sports are squeaky clean. It's all about who gets caught, as far as I can see. And I agree with Cathy, Tom Brady IS cute.....

Chase, have a glass of wine for me at the cottage, will you. I'm still trying to learn to like it, LOL, but for now, you can sure have my share.

Cathy, enjoy Dinosaur World. It's all about Beau? Well, it certainly ought to be, in my opinion. It's all about MY grandkids when I'm with them.

Stacie, I'd love to see pictures of Aiden, I'm glad to hear he's doing better. He's nursing? Well, a clink of the breast milk to Aiden!

Shaun, I sure don't envy you that job!

Nancy, A VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO KIM!!! Give her hugs from Elery and I. Some for you too. It seems there will be some dinner components that Roxie won't get to share, LOL.

Alexa, I hope you feel better quickly, after all, you have next week to deal with.....

Pat, good luck on your second semester and congratulations on that 4. grade average, that's awesome.

Michael/Lyra, have I mentioned that I just love you and your sense of humor? (grin) I also had to laugh at Dolly Dog. Wonderweiner used to get mad at me and only chew MY stuff. They're a lot of fun, though, aren't they?

Duane, you can have some of my snow, we got some wet heavy stuff last night and I have to go home after work and shovel the driveway.

Dedtired, eat a couple of Mom's cookies for me too, will you? I gave all mine away.....

jcrowley, bifocals? Nah, it can't be so. (grin)

Woodie and Michelle, clink with my tea cup.

So, what about this weekend? Well, tonight I have to shovel the driveway and tomorrow I'm going to go pick up Makayla and she's spending the night with me. We're going to get Whoppers at Burger King and play on the PlayPlace, then come home, watch Barbie, The Island Princess, eat popcorn and make a tent in the living room. She wants to sleep in my waterbed (yeah, a leftover from my hippie days, a long LONG time ago, LOL) and make "cow waffles" in the morning on my farm animal waffle iron. I'll take her home Sunday, visit with Dad, feed the stock, fill the tanks, etc. Before I know it, it'll be Sunday.

And, I have to sit down with Dad, he's having surgery on his "good" leg on the 22nd. He has to be in Grand Rapids at the hospital at 5:30 a.m. so I'll have to be at his place at 4 a.m. I don't know which hospital, whether it's an outpatient or he'll have to stay, how long it will take. Gotta get some details here, sheesh!

    Clink to you all.

TGIF to all! Lori, it's great to see you here and planning a new normal weekend!
Pam- congrats on your new position as Chair of the Board! I know that it will probably challenge you as much as your paid position! Take care of that cold!
Stacey- glad to hear that little Aiden is eating up a storm!
Alexa- take it easy, it's hard to work full time, be ill and be mommy!
Nancy, please wish Kim a very happy birthday, we're celebrating at a surprise party tonight for a dear friend's 50th too!
The weekend is busy for us too. Tonight's surprise birthday party, tomorrow gym and maybe a movie and Sunday night will be another birthday- our friend is 65 and his wife has taken over a Cuban restaurant--he loves people and photography so recently took a trip to Cuba-- and the evening isn't a surprise but there's going to be salsa dancing, lots of food and fun! Tonight I'll be toasting our friend but I'll also raise my glass to all here too! *clink*

    Happy Friday Y'all!!!

What a crappy day here in the Philly area!!

Lori, thanks for started the thread! I alway enjoy reading what everyone has planned for the weekend. Have fun baking!
I am betting the PATS will go all the way!!

Sharon, skiing?? Havent been in years!! The kids have been "talking" about going so we'll have to see. Have fun at the cottage!!

Stacie, congrats on the new addition to your family! I read he had a rough start so I sent some prayers your way!
It'll be nice for your son to have a built in playmate!!

Shaun, OOOOO an afternoon getaway with the hubs!! Thats so romantical!!

Alexa, hope you feel netter!! I musta missed something...last I heard you were doing some catering? Did you go full time doing that?? I am so confused LOL!! Sux to be blonde and forgetful LOL!! Details girl???

Nancy, Enjoy your time off!! So whats on Kims manu?? Pass along my birthday wishes...hard when the front number changes!!

Lyra/Michael, Dolly dog sounds like my Gretchen. One time she was left up and took all of our toothbrushes from the bathroom and hid them in her crate (we leave it open-she sleeps in there). We were shocked she would do such a thing!!

Duane, I have chased the trash truck many times LOL!! Good thing there is a dumpster at work....used it a few times LOL!!

Pam, my dad used to say IGGLES. My mom would always correct him and spell E A G L E S spells EAGLES-not iggles LOL! Thanx for the memory!!

Jcrowley, good luck at the eye doc! I tried the bifocals once but my eyes never adjusted to the line...I am blind in one eye so it just didn't feel right.

As for me I am back to working out after taking about 6 weeks off. I did do to the gym but not on a regular basis.
It feels good to be in the routine again!
I still have decorations to deal with!! GRRRRR!!

Today I have a doc appointment. I haven't been feeling right for some time. Getting dizzy spells, tired, low energy ect...then the other day I had this weird episode while driving. I felt like my brain was spinning...very weird and scary! I felt really dizzy the rest of the day.
Plus I am concerned about my weight, I diet and work out yet I cannot lose weight. A pound here or there but nothing substatial. My trainer wants me to have my thyroid checked out. I also worry I am pre diabetic. It runs in the family and oldest bro was just diagnosed. Its either the above or I am pregnant heavens forbid!!!

I also have good news...my rottie Wendy is home from the hospital. Poor thing had surgery this week to remove several lumps from her underbelly. The pathology report will determine if its cancer. We have her home while we wait. Not sure what we'll do if it turns out to be bad news. Its just good to have her here!!

This weekend we'll shop for back to school. Amy begins her second semester this week and its like move in day all over as her room mate has decided to go to a new building to room with a girl she met thru school. So Amy has a new room mate to get to know. Oh and the old room mate took the fridge!! LOL!!
Its all good....Amy and Emily parted in good terms. Emily just wanted to room with someone with the same major.

Everyone have a great weekend and be safe out there!!!

    Cheers!

Good to see you here Lori! Another big hug for you.

Happy Friday everyone! Alexa I hope you and your DH are feeling better by tomorrow!

I'm waiting for the vet to come to remove (my cat) Bunny's stitches (from her eye....ouch!) She's been such a good girl, staying inside without a complaint for a whole week, taking her medicine and learning how to use her sand box. (Caught her sleeping in it today.)

Our guest went out hiking today with friends so Wolf and I had a nice quiet day alone for a change. That was after I did my pilates this morning. My friend Anne came up to the gym and we had a ladies' coffee hour with my other classmates. It had rained last night but by 1 pm the balcony seats were dry enough for us to sit outside.

Came home and heated up some salmon cakes, cleaned out the veggie cooler and steamed up a pile of veg then later had a siesta. I should start pruning the roses, although they're still blooming. This is about the lowest growth point in the year so I know I have to do it before February. Ah well....as they say here....perhaps mana.....mañana....mañana!

Guess I'd better go grocery shopping tomorrow so I can make something good for Sunday dinner. And I have to take some recycle rubbish to the collection point. Although we have door to door garbage pickup twice a week, they don't do separate pickups for recycle rubbish. It's a sort of grey area in the system here. One can dump everything together in their street rubbish bin or separate and carry glass, plastics and paper things in the car to a collection point. I've just started doing that and am amazed at the quantity of plastic and styrofoam packaging that piles up in just a few days.....yoghurt cups, cellophane wraps, plastic water bottles and catfood tins. I had previously put it all in the kitchen under-the-sink garbage container and we took it out daily to our street bin where I never saw it again. Now I see it sitting there on the back porch until I drive it away in the car LOL! We've been recycling glass for a couple of years though.

Have a lovely weekend all... and stay healthy!

Susie, I hope everything goes well at the doctor. I have had thyroid problems for years and am on meds for it, both my BIL and FIL are too. Those symptoms can definitely be caused by thyroid issues.

I just came back from the eye doctor, new prescription but no bifocals! Yeah! She said whatever I was looking at and trying to read the one day (my prescription bottle) probably was just a bad font and I would not have thought of it if I had not just turned 40. She also said that the makers of Oasis contact lenses are going to come out with Oasis for astigmatism in the next couple years so I might be able to get contact lenses then (allergies make my eyes too dry for most). Have a great weekend!

Hi Lori! I hope you and Mackenzie enjoy your girl time together baking. Getting back to the gym will be great for you too.

Nancy - give Kim a big 5-0 happy birthday hug for me.

Annie, make sure to get Monkey Princess her favorite fench fies.

Last night DH went to the dreaded monthly HOA meeting (zzzzzzz), and I stayed home and sniffed over Wuthering Heights. I usually hate chick flicks, but old gothic ones do me in. Cathy! Heathcliff! Eyes wide open, clutching breast... Kate Bush's overwrought and hysterical yet apt Wuthering Heights rendition playing in my mind... LOL.

    I've been watching my new table tennis pro's strokes DVD, wishing that watching the perfect forms will magically make my body recreate them. Well, we know that's not going to happen so off I go for practice and {{gwi:1472367}}

TGIF, everyone! So glad to hear from you Lori! Sounds like everyone is easing in the New Year! I'm toasting you with a mug of beer - Hoegaarden...yummy!

I plan to work on quilting projects this weekend and do laundry. Sunday I am invited to a brunch with friends. If my sister gets home, we will have dinner at my parents' house.

My son gave me a 6-mo. membership to Netflix - my queue has 85 movies in it already. Calendar Girls and Waitress arrive tomorrow. I am now officially a couch potato.

Gina, are you watching Project Runway? Are we ready to Auf Christian?

Yes I'm watching, I'm watching! {{gwi:1472368}}, I mean, Christian, doesn't bother me. I've grown rather fond of him. As someone on a snark-filled TV forum said - "I'd like to put him in my pocket and take him everywhere with me". It's refreshing to see there's no big villain and snipery with this talented group.

I'm ready to Auf Michael Kors - can he wear anything other than a tee-shirt under a sports jacket? What is he? Don Johnson? C'mon, Michael, you know you want to break out the daishiki!

Annie- our posts must have crossed! Dad's having more surgery? Details please! A playdate with the very grown up monkey princess? Sounds like fun! Jayden's a bit put out with me. He was in the hospital for pneumonia last weekend and I took baby brother Mason. He was not too happy when I returned him! LOL!
Gina, MANGO?? I don't watch Project Runway, but tell me he's not on there!
Susie-I hope the doc says everything is okay. I'm another with thryroid problems. I've found that as I get older, my doseage has lessened!

Now Ellen, what in the world are you doing, taking Mason? LOLOLOL

Dad has been getting some diabetic ulcers on his "good" leg. Well, the only one he has left, geez. Anyway, they aren't healing and the docs say they need to get better circulation to that leg. They are going to try to open up some veins to improve circulation. He has an artificial knee in that leg and it's giving him some problems too, the docs say maybe better circulation would help with those problems, if not, they'll have to work on the artificial joint if/when they can get the sores to heal.

If they can get that leg fixed up they are going to shorten the tibia in his "stump" to see if that makes the prosthesis more bearable, it hurts too badly for him to walk on it right now.

So, it appears that the 22nd is the first of a series of surgeries to fix him up. I sure hope it works....

Susie_que - make sure they check your carotids in addition to the thyroid, sometimes minor plaque can cause prolonged dizzy spells.

TGIF all! Wow...this week went by fast. I'm subbing for one of my assistants, so today I plowed my way through several inches of slush...yick. Big snowfalls, then a warmup and rain. Yick. We're up high enough that it just keeps snowing. Bear likes it....the snow's so deep where it came off the roof that he can sit and watch us through the windows, which are 5-6 ft.off the ground.

Tomorrow I plow my way back down to work, then Sunday I can hide out. Going to bake bread, make dinners for next week and drink something hot and spiked (not necessarily in that order...). By Monday it's supposed to be cold again. And more snow. Getting tired of shoveling....

Happy weekend...stay warm and be healthy everyone. Hope all goes well for Dad, Annie.

Good to see you here Lori....(((((Lori))))))

i'm very glad to see that aiden is doing better and a clink of the coffee cup that his progress continues! good luck to you, alexa. i've never understood how single parents get anything done and maintain any semblance of sanity--glad to hear this is only a short-term situation for you.

boy--i think it's a big month for birthdays (thanx for ted's birthday wishes, guys) and it's the 50th for kim? that is worthy of a special dinner! so what did you fix, nancy?

except for trying to nail down details with your dad, annie, it sounds as if things are moving along great in your household! best wishes for a successful outcome. and i'm sorry to hear you haven't been up to par, susie! with any luck, the doc can pin-point a simple solution for you. i also wanted to say thanx for sending pics of the kids. hard to believe how much they've changed over the last couple of years! hope amy will enjoy her new roommate!

but poor maggie! holy crow--i can't even begin to imagine! and you have to wait until february for the dentist to fix things??? i'm really, really sorry to hear that and you can vent all you want. yikes!

nh had the 2nd snowiest december on record and it really was quite beautiful. it was getting difficult to see around snowbanks at some intersections but we had a real warm-up over the last week and even a little rain. the snowbanks are back to much better levels but it's really not very pretty out there now. frankly, i'll look forward to at least a fresh covering. and if nothing else, i know we'll be tuned in to the big game tonight. enjoy the weekend, guys!

Lori it's soo good to see you here!
Maggie- I think I'd say adios to this dentist and find another, waiting almost 4 weeks is too long to be uncomfortable! The pneumonia thing came on somewhat suddenly last Saturday evening. DSIL took DGS#1 to the E.R. nearby and they determined he needed to be hospitalized and so they took him by amublance to another hospital about 15 mins away with a big pediatric floor. He got excellent care and IV antibiotics and respiratory treatments. They kept him until Monday and then sent him home with more antibiotics. Kids are so resilient, he returned to school yesterday! Apparently with the exception of one blood draw, he wasn't at all traumatized by the experience! Amazing?

San, a belated birthday to Ted! I would love some of your snow. I am sure it gets old, though. You live in such beautiful country.

Lori, is it on yet...Go Pats!

Compumom, yes amazing they are! Whew, they scare you.

I'm fine - feel stupid complaining! Funny thing is this is a specialist that I traveled way out of the way to go to because I don't trust my dentist - LOL! He wants the area to heal since I had an infection and unfortunately, I have to wait for next Saturday appt. available. Apparently, having a piece of his equip. in there is no prob! LOL
