Yesterday I tried making brownies from scratch for the first time and scalloped potatoes not from a box.
Both didn't turn out so well.
The brownie'swere way too gooey in the middle. I thought I followed the recipe pretty exactly. I choose it because it had a lot of good reviews. Any idea what I did wrong? I like brownies that are in between cake and gooey, more like really moist and chewy.

Scallop potatoe recipe - another highly rated can't screw these up allrecipe recipe. I used 1 cup half and half and 1 cup 2% milk instead of heavy cream. The cream seems to have separated or disappeared or something and I was left with what looked like broth and cheese curds.
Anyone know how to keep that from happening again?
