Stuffing in a crockpot?

Hello folks, my oven is full cooking turkey breasts to take to our son's house for Christmas dinner. I plan to slice them and reheat them in the broth tomorrow when we get there. I need to make a lot of stuffing and am wondering whether it would be too dense to cook in the crockpot (it is bread dressing the consistency of mashed potatoes) and if anyone has tried this. How long should it be cooked? I am thinking I could put it in the crockpot (it holds 4-5 quarts) around eleven tonight and it would be done by 8 in the morning just as we are getting ready to leave for his house. I could then wrap the whole crock pot in a few towels to keep it hot for the 2 hour drive and plug it back in when we got there. Is this a plan or a disaster waiting to happen?
