Ok I see you started 2 different posts here, one says you installed AVG free and one says you installed AVG antispyware free. Did you install AVG antivirus?? or just antispyware?? If you installed antivirus you most definitely can NOT have 2 antivirus programs running on your pc at the same time. You would first have to completely remove the antivirus program that is on the pc BEFORE you install and run another antivirus program. Do you have the AOL antivirus package perhaps? With antispyware programs normally you can have more than one they work differently so they can be used as layered protection thereby allowing more than one to run at the same time. Do you have plenty of memory (RAM) on your computer? when you get low on RAM it will tend to make things freeze up and run poorly. If you did install AVG antivirus and already had an antivirus program on your pc I would uninstall both of them completely, then go right to the AVG site and re- download and install the AVG antivirus to make sure you got it complete and properly installed. fill us in on exactly what you did and what you got so we know how to further direct you. And lets try to do this on this one post and not use the other one.

Loralee, regardless of the software you will eventually settle on, you will need to use multiple DVD's unless you opt for an external hard drive. I suggest that you take an afternoon and use a disk burning application (I can't stand Roxio, more on this later) to back up the files and folders of your choosing. If your DVD writer is capable, use double layered DVD-R's as they are 8.5 GB each. Then, get in the habit of backing up new files to dvd on a regular basis. A real simple solution would be to buy an external USB or Firewire hard drive and copy over your precious files, though I would still make DVD's and put them away. Most, if not all, external drives come with some sort of "back-up" software. As Ravencajun suggests, Trueimage is pretty good. I do not recommend anything by Roxio as their software has proven to conflict with hardware drivers and also creates problems when installed with other software. It doesn't play well with other software. I have made many repairs to friends and family computers that Roxio has caused. There are many other cd/dvd burning software solutions available, I am partial to Nero. I also suggest Total Commander as a file manager. It far exceeds the capability of Windows Explorer and once you use it, you'll never look back. If you get an external hard drive and use total commander, you'll be done in no time at all. Good luck.

Not knowing where the recipient's mail server is (where he works or at his Internet Service Provider, etc.), makes it slightly more difficult to pin down the answer, but right now I'd say that you don't have to be concerned about not having the correct e-mail address. Where I work, we have Exchange mail servers. There have been times that, for one reason or another, we close the incoming/outgoing gateway to the network. Mail within the agency is still sent/received, but mail into or out of the agency is held in queue while whatever needs to be done is being done. When the maintenance/repair is completed, the gateway is opened and all of the messages that were held are now allowed out/in.

Sorry, I was gone for awhile and just got back to this. You're right, Jasdip, I do have Windows XP and Internet Explorer with the little blue "e". I've also installed Mozilla/Firefox and it opens much faster than IE with my MSN home page. (Is it that new virus that is causing the page to not load or time out or take forever to load?) Glad to have Firefox for sure. Thanks for that! Thanks for all the input. I'll save the info. And, I'm sorry to say, Poohbear, but I'm going back to Incredimail. It's so darn fogey friendly! I don't like Outlook Express and I tried Thunderbird yesterday and didn't like it. Actually, it's not me as much as my DH who doesn't like them. He's not a computer enthusiast and likes to learn something once and not have it changed later. But, I don't use all the Incredimail stuff...no fancy stationary, no emoticons. And, when I receive an email that's been forwarded many times and I like it, I clean it up before I forward it. Sometimes I send it to myself and forward it from there. I wish I didn't have to have all of Incredimail gallery stuff, etc. I guess if you go Premium, you don't have to have all the ads. Oh, well, my DH is happy, I'm happy and now we have a happy home...LOL!!! Thanks again all! Leslie/KS
