After seeing them all together, I am leaning toward #2 or the shag. My adjoining kitchen is done in the rust red so I think that #2 would pull it out into the family room. What do you think?

Is that black in your fabric? If so, I would definitely pick the first rug. It looks very warm and rich with your fabric. I think they will look beautiful together. Your house looks wonderful! Where did you find the rugs? I also like the first one because it does not have fringe. The fringe looks nice in the beginning, but it never seems to age well with heavy traffic.

Rugs 1 and 2 are my favorites. I think 2 would be the best because there is more red. Beautiful room!

I love #3 with your decor. The black border works very well with the black door, but yet it's not overpowering. Gorgeous.

Thank you! The rugs are all from rugsdirect.com. There is not any black in the fabric for the drapes or the sofa but I am planning on adding some trim with black in it.

Is the shag too boring/casual for the room? I love things that look "comfy"!

#2 is my pick.

I don't think the shag is boring or too casual, comfy yes, I love shag and I think of it as more contemporary. I think it will work in your room very well as you have plenty of interesting furniture pieces that the solid color won't compete only compliment. Go for it!

I like the first two rugs. My taste runs toward the traditional. Until you get the rugs in your home, you won't know whether your furniture will go with or clash with the various rugs. Sorry, but I do think the room will be too monotone with the shag rug.

I agree the white would be monotone. No one has mentioned 4 and it looks good too. My pick would be either 1 or 4.

My first reaction was #4 but then I read down most of the comments and no one had said 4 so I went back to the rugs and chose a different one. Then I read the last post and 4 was mentioned SO I really like #4 and my second choice would be #3. By the way you chose really pretty rugs!

I like #1 & #3. Do not like the shag at all. But that is my taste. Seems like everyone has their own opinion. But you are the one who has to live with it!!! Maybe the lady who can do the pasting thing could do the room with each of the rugs. I think that would help a lot.

Since it is difficult to tell from my screen what are the colors in your fabric? The dark color looked black to me. I favor the traditional looking rugs also vs the shag. The shag might be more difficult to clean also. :)

Number 2 for me!

#1 first and then #4, second. I love the design with the dark border framing the rug. But the added plus it that there is no fringe to keep straight on either of these.

I like #2 and the shag. I think either would work, but you have to decide which look you are going for. The others seem too dark.
