Here is the color we have in most of our house. If you like it, I'll be happy to share. It's really light, warm, yet "clean" feeling. It looks lightest during the daytime.

I'm actually going to use two of the colors that aren't working for you in my new construction. Shaker Beige in hallways and foyer. And Monroe Bisque in rooms that have our medium colored Maple cabinetry--it definitely has a warm tone to it.

I looked at lots & lots of taupe colors.
How about Wheeling Neutral HC92? I really liked this one and it seems not too yellow, gold, green, pink. etc. and neither cool or warm.
I also liked Manchester Tan but it seems more of a light cool neutral with some gray added. Since you have lots of natural light, this one may be a winner.

Ellen Kennon Taupe is my favorite. You order it vis her web site and pick it up at your local ICI Dulux paint store.

Are you open to other suggestions? I don't have any experience with those other colors but we have what I consider to be THE perfect khaki/beige color. It is SW Relaxed Khaki. It really does go with everything, IMO! Here it is in our home with SW Antique White as the trim color.

thanks everyone! scarlet, looks great! ill give it a look--problem is I see great photos of colors in people's houses, go out and buy samples--and then it looks totally different from in my house!

Janine, that is what happens to me! Therefore, when we were choosing paint colors for our new home, my DH, who is a builder of custom homes, took me to see several homes that were near completion. That way I could see what the paint would look like IRL, not on a paint chip or on a computer monitor. I just can't picture things well without seeing them in person. When I saw this palette in one of the homes, I fell in love!

It's actually Wal-Mart brand (Color Place)-- It's called "Bleached Wheat" and we've been very pleased with it.

Scarlet, you need to show us more pictures of your home! From what little I can see, it's lovely!

Another suggestion...this one is more of a taupe.

Do you have and Ace Hardware in your area?

We used the Ace Sensations brand paint. It's a step above the Ace Royal brand paint. Ace paints are very good, and very comparable to SW, BM, etc. The only paint brand we've found to be better is Ralph Lauren, which is amazing.

Anyway, we used Ace paint in "wheat ridge", 50% lighter.

My new favorite off white/beige is the ready mixed Olympic antique white at Lowes. It looks beautiful in the semi gloss, especially next to the flat, we just applied in a hallway & guest bedroom & bath. Its not too brown and not too yellow. It might be more towards oyster or pearlish. We painted doors and trim in the semi gloss, and it is very luxurious IMHO, it has an elegant feel to it.
