Is this color too bright/bold ?

I've chosen BM Tear Drop Blue for my LR & DR. Usually I choose paler shades, so I'm scared, LOL. The online color looks brighter and more aqua than the color chip and the paint. Is it going to dry lighter or darker? I've bought the paint already, and now I'm second guessing myself. My home & the rooms are not very big, LR is 11x13, DR is 10'10"x9'. with a doorway between them of 40" wide. I keep telling myself to go for it, and worst thing that could happen is I have to repaint. But it's my house, I could do that. Do other people agonize like this?

Ignore the online color - completely.

Trust the chip/paint sample. A dried sample of the paint should match your chip before you proceed with testing.

The fundamental objective of the chip to sample process is for the sample to match the chip. Even tho chips are not real paint doesn't matter because the whole chain is predicated on mixing samples, quarts, gallons to match chips.

I would expect the paint to be truer to the chip than anything online, but I would also test before doing 2 rooms.

Thanks for the feedback olivesmom! That's what we're wondering about- how it will translate to our design. It's so hard to picture it without seeing the whole thing together. Such is building a custom house from paper to end, right? :) I think we'll definitely go with a creamier trim, which I think we'll still be able to pull off with the windows. I agree that white would be too stark. We're heading to the stone guys later today to see what options we could come up with for the whole face of the garage, front entry and columns. The roof as of now would be like the shingle photo I have at the bottom right of my mood board- gray with black/charcoal accents. I am worried with how that will play off of such a dark house and contrasting trim. Lots to think about...

Thanks to everyone for your thoughts/suggestions! I agree the kitchen looks bland in the pics, but believe in person it is much warmer than in the pics. I am leaving it as is. It opens up to the family room which has a red (cathedral ceiling) wall so there is plenty of color in there, it just doesn't show in the pic. I got feedback from a showing last night that the lady thought the colors were "too bold!" How funny that is the exact word I chose too. I think the dining room might be a bit much for some, but am not willing to have someone come in a paint the cathedral ceiling wall in the LR. I could do the DR pretty easily and it would tone things down a lot Will add it to my list! Good news is that two realtors have told me it's priced right, so I am not dropping my price for a while. I think the east walls are the perfect place for an accent wall color.... We have lots of windows and skylights in our new reno and love the dark purple we did on 2 of the walls. The lavender on the other 2 (very open plan in the back of our house) is lovely, but lacks the panache the deep color has. If you have good light and can get away with a deep rich color, I'd say go for it! If your natural light is only average, I'd be more careful about darkening too far.

Thanks all. Beth, I chose the porcelain flooring because it's so easy to clean up. We live in SoCa and recently had terrible Santa Ana winds as we do several times each year. This floor was so easy to sweep. Our backyard has lots of brick including a patio but there, unlike our porch, I can clean it with strong hosing.

OK, I put up a couple of test patches, they looked too bright initially, but now it's after dark and I like it. Either the light change or my nerves calmed down, but I'm going for it. Thanks.

It needed to dry. Takes time for it to cure and actual color resolution. Take another look tomorrow and over the course of a few days before you decide for sure.

That is a beautiful color. My bedroom is painted turquoise- much darker and brighter than your color, with a whitewash, and it is the most peaceful room. It feels like I'm in a swimming pool in the Caribbean.

You will love this color in your home.
