The very first person to audition had such a nice voice, but he'll never hold up against the competition. He's the one with the high toned voice. He'd be a great crooner like the old time balladiers but not quite for today's pop culture. I really hate the audition weirdos and really wish they'd show us more of the real wannabees who at least have decent voices. Teresa, I try to predict, too. At least that part is fun LOL. Most often I can tell by the sound of their speaking voice and the resonance, like you. One sure fire way to tell is if they have a hoarse voice. You know that's a singer - an untrained one but a singer nonetheless. But then, lots of famous singers are also hoarse and they've had training, like Whitney Houston. I'm surprised she can talk or sing at all.

I don't know Colton Berry personally, but he is very well known in the area. He lives about 15 miles from where I live. Excerpt from our newspaper: Colton is well-known to area theater fans. The 17-year-old has long been a fixture in the area fine arts community. Berry has directed and starred in musicals since he was 16, including "Beauty and the Beast," "Jeckyl and Hyde," "Chicago" and a completely sold-out production of "Aida." The High School senior also performed with the 2006 production of "Big River" and the 2007 musical "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum." Sorry to say I wasn't too impressed with his performance. I had expected better. Sue

Not hardly the only one, Susan. Syesha is a great singer. She's another one I don't understand why people dislike her. Really bugging me to know what is going here, but I know I never will. No one will admit it, anyway. Chikeze is better than at least three other contestants - Jason, Kristy, and Ramiele. Jason is a cutie pie with a nice voice, but he's not a great singer and he's NOT a good performer at all. Kristy should have gone ages ago but taking only her performance Tuesday night, my 8 year old could have done at least as good a job with a song so beloved in the country. She, or whoever chose that song for her, was a marketing genius for that moment and kept her in the contest another week. Ramiele has either lost enthusiasm or is totally lost. The only thing I can figure must be happening is the producers are controlling the outcome or voters are not being honest with these people - true to themselves but not the contestants. So not fair at all!

I am so glad the judges see the amazing talents that Casey has, Steven really was getting into it stating his mind last night LOL The kid is one of the best musicians, even the shows pros are amazed by his skills and his voice. I think Haley did the best performance so far last night, she is redeeming herself. James was very good, he is original. Jacob is getting boring, he was much better before they reigned him in, Randy keeps telling him to let go and do it like he did in the early days but the people working with him are not allowing him to do that they keep pulling him back. He needs to stand his ground like Casey and James did and do what he feels. Stephano did not impress. Scotty is going to be a major country star no matter what happens on the show and I am glad he is sticking to his guns and doing what is right for him. Country is a big enough genre to support that. Lauren is very good but as Jennifer said needs to let it go big, quit holding back.
