Chocolate Peppermint Cheesecake or other?

I'm looking for a t&t peppermint cheesecake recipe - I made one several years ago but can't find the recipe and haven't found a recipe that I like while briefly searching the internet.

Also interested in any other holiday-like cheesecake recipe you may have - TIA

Two recipes that sound good at Kraft. Candy Cane Cheesecake

or this one..just toss crushed peppermints or candy cane into the white part. Double Chocolate Philly Cheesecake

I have a Philly CreamCheese recipe book it's got the 3 step's (poured into a premade cookie/graham crust and uses only 2 bricks of cream cheese) or the traditional 3-4 bricks..
What other flavors are you interested in?
I'll type them up.. There hasn't been one that I've tried that wasn't delish!

Chocolate mint bs peppermint - same plant?

Common names do you no good, you need the scientific name. Here are some examples of scientific names: Melissa officinalis, Lemon balm Mentha x piperita, Peppermint Mentha spicata, Spearmint Mentha arvensis, Wild mint On Wikepedia, I see Chocolate mint listed as a cultivar of Mentha x piperita. The "x" means it is a cross, and peppermint was a cross between a wild european swamp mint, Mentha aquatica, and Mentha spicata. Chocolate mint is a botanical cultivar of Peppermint. That means the breeders noticed certain peppermints with a hint of chocolate smell and bred those plants specifically. But it is not different enough from Peppermint to be a whole other species. Common names are easy for a lay person to use, but often don't tell you very much about the plant, it's origin or it's cultivation. Here is a link that might be useful: Peppermint on Wikipedia

Topo, I've looked over the link, I think I would try your original recipe w/o the lemon, use the pomegranate liqueur for the flavoring, with the option of the Pomegranate Sauce, it would make a great presentation. I will try that way when I next make it. Totally agree w/you about sharing recipes, can you image if recipes weren't shared, porridge might still be the staple in our daily menus. I know for a fact that someone gave her that tart recipe; I just dont know who. In fact, while out w/friends one evening this topic came up and there was a women in the group knew exactly what I was talking about, she had the recipe but someone stole her personal cookbook with that recipe in it, maybe it was MY COUSIN!!! "You can check the torture newsgroups for techniques" LOL !! I have 3 recipes I want to work with; one w/a small amount of ricotta, another w/a small amount of amaretti cookies crushed in the batter, and the other escapes me right now. Each different, so I will try my hand at breaking down each recipe into 3rds as each recipe makes approx 40 tarts & I basically just want samples. Who knows may end up with something far better. Lucy

I make bon bons every year and we have always melted chocolate chips in a double broiler with a small amount of wax. I've never used melting chocolate, not even sure what exactly that is, I'm assuming it is like candy melts?

Brownie Bottom Cheesecake
by Philadelphia Creamcheese

Brownie Bottom:
1/2 c butter
4 sq unsweetened chocolate
1 1/2 c sugar
2 eggs
1/4 c milk
1 t vanilla
1 c flour
1/2 t salt
Cheesecake:
3 (8oz) cream cheese, softened
3/4 c sugar
1 t vanilla
3 eggs
1/2 c sourcream
Heat oven to 325F.
Brownie Bottom:
Melt butter and chocolate over low heat stirring constantly; cool.
Add sugar and eggs 1 at a time mix until blended after each addition. Blend in milk and vanilla.
Stir in combined flour and salt, mixing just until blended. Spoon into greased and floured 9" springform, spread evenly. Bake 25 minutes.
Cheesecake:
Beat cream cheese, sugar and vanilla at medium speed until well blended. Add eggs, 1 at a time, mixing at low speed after each addition, just until blended.
Blend in sour cream; pour over brownie bottom(filling will almost come to top of pan). Bake 55-60minutes or until center is almost set. Run knife around edge to loosen pan from cake; cool before removing rim. Refrigerate 4 hours or overnight. Let stand 30 minutes at room temp before serving.
Serves 12.

Orange Chocolate Swirl Cheesecake

Crust
1 1/2c graham crumbs
1/4 c sugar
1/3 c butter, melted
Filling
3 (8oz) cream cheese, softened
1 c sugar
5 eggs
2 T orange liquor or orange juice
1/2 t grated orange peel
4 squares semi sweet chocolate, melted, slightly cooled
Heat oven to 325F.
Crust
Mix crumbs, sugar and melted butter, spread into 9" springform pan. Bake 10 minutes.
Filling
Beat cream cheese and sugar at medium speed until well blended. Add eggs 1 at a time, mixing on low speed after each addition, just until blended. Blend in liquor and peel.
Reserve 2 cups of batter. Pour remaning cream cheese batter over crust. Blend chocolate in reserved filling. Add spoonfuls of the chocolate to the cream cheese batter. Cut through the batter with a knife several times for marble affect.
Bake 55-60 minutes or until center is almost set. Run knife around rim to loosen cake, cool before removing rim. Refrigerate 4 hours or overnight.
Serves 12.
