Cookie Exchange Party - Ideas?

I'm finally going to host a Cookie Exchange party. I have always wanted to:) I have never even been to one - lol.

Does anybody have experience they can share?

I was thinking is inviting 20 a good number? My house is not huge. I know I need one table just for the cookies (I'll use the dining room). Does 2 dozen cookies seem right? Is that what most recipes make?

I'm going to serve appys, mini desserts (not cookies) and cocktails (def a punch) - any ideas on that welcome.

Do I provide the tins? Also, I have to put on the invitation no peanuts or tree nuts please since I can't have them in the house....

Do party games? Or just hang out? I thought maybe also do a jewelry party - but would that be weird? I'm not really one of those party shopper types - lol.

I'm thinking it will be a nice little breather for the girlies during the holiday season.

Thank you! Maggie
