DS just went to get some firehouse subs! Aren't you jealous? I love subs.

I went out to lunch and the movies with the ladies today. It's a tough life but someone has to do it. We went to an Italian restaurant today. The other ladies all ordered a soup and chicken salad plate. What? We're in an Italian restaurant. You can order chicken salad in any restaurant. I ordered rigatoni bolognese. It was very good and I have enough leftover for dinner tonight. DH will have a hamburger.

We had Chcken cordon bleu...the kind that is already prepared and you just bake it for 30 minutes. I made lima beans and egg noodles to go with it. Uninspired but good, quick and my picky folks will eat it!

Filed my income tax, today, and gotta pay :o( so I'm eating light!

After Alyssa's doctor's check up and shots we ate lunch at Lincoln Square. I had the special of Swiss steak, with mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, coleslaw and a roll. Alyssa shared my mashed potatoes and gravy, a couple green beans and some coleslaw. The food was good. So this evening I am not too hungry. I had hot tea and buttered crackers.

I had planned on making Swiss steak and mashed potatoes, but I had a large lunch, so for dinner tonight I had a bag of popcorn and a glass of wine. I'll probably be starved when I go to bed. Swiss steak tomorrow.

Well, we have leftover pork roast but it was tough for some reason, probably over cooking it. I started it in the crockpot with some Chinese bbq packet we got at an Oriental food market. It turned everything bright pink and tasted awful. So, to save the meat I took it out of the crockpot and rinsed it off, put it in a regular pot with water, a packet of onion soup mix and regular bbq sauce. It tasted ok after that but was really dry. I gave part of it to the dogs this morning and no one wants it for dinner tonight. So, we are probably going to Huddle House because I don't want to cook anything else. My back hurts after doing all that housework today. The dogs will probably get the rest of it tonight or in the morning.

Joann, I like subs, too. Especially Italian subs. What kind did you have?

Georgysmom, you poor thing. You need to get out more :-) What movie did you see?

Ghoghunter, at least your picky eaters will eat lima beans! That isn't the world's most loved vegetable. We love them around here.

Glenda, we had to pay last year and I'm praying we don't have to this year. Geez, talk about squeezing blood out of a turnip!

Sue, I would love to find a restaurant that served Swiss steak. I hardly ever make it, so it'd be a real treat for me. Poor little Alyssa--such a nice birthday and now shots! Hope she feels okay.

Lisa, hold dinner--I'll be right over. That sounds so good.

Hey Phyllis, have a large bag of popcorn--that'll last you through the night. Of course, it will probably take more than one glass of wine, so enjoy! I'll be up for Swiss steak tomorrow (if the airports are open). Did you get a lot of snow?

Turkey salisbury steak/gravy, mashed potatoes, and for some reason or another, I wanted canned pork n beans so I had them.

I visited Annie today in the Home, I always ask her what she had for lunch. From what she described, it was a loaded baked potato. She loved it. Wish I'd chosen today to go eat with her. They have their main meal at noon, and eat lighter for the evening meal.

Kathleen, I got some pork chops not long ago and no matter how I cooked them, they were as tough as shoe leather. I bet that pink meat was a big surprise--and I bet you have some happy pooches!

Went to get a couple of things before the sale was over for this week. Our grocery store specials start Friday.
I picked up another pkg of 3 romaine hearts for $2 which is a good price nowadays.

While there they had their fresh pizzas....not store-made, just a huge rectangular pizza wrapped in plastic, but not frozen, for $2 off. So it was $3. We had our fill, plus 3 huge pieces for tomorrow yet. Made a Caesar salad to go with it.

My ladies Garden Club all went to lunch at Black Eye Pea today and I had the home made chicken pot pie which was very filling.

for dinner I am cooking pork chops baked with an apricot pineapple topping, I found something for the crock pot with those ingredients and thought I would try it in the oven. Along with some navy beans.
I am not hungry in the least so Hubby will be eating most of it I guess.

Hot dogs and potato salad.Not very interesting, but I diodn't feel like cooking anything big. Just me and DH these days. And why do hot dogs come in packs of ten while the rolls come eight to a package? I always end up with hot dogs for my own dog. She loves any "people food". If we eat it, she wants it.

I invited MarilynC and her husband Jody over for dinner. I fixed the sausage and rigatone dish and also baked a Marie Callendar Blackberry cobbler.

They loved dinner and we had some leftover so I packaged it up and sent it home with them.

We are headed out this morning going West. Home is only 3 days away.

Nita--good choice for dinner. I love that stuff! And any Marie Callendar pie gets my vote. Have a safe trip. Hope everything at home is okay, too.

Joann, it took me a minute to figure out "firehouse" was the sub shop and a spicy sub. If we have them around here, I haven't seen them. We have a Subway just up the road, but I like Publix subs just as well. During the holidays they had a turkey, bacon, swiss and cranberry sauce sub that was to die for. Soooo good!

Ravencajun, those pork chops sound really good. Wonder if you had any?

Jasdip, sounds just like homemade pizza without the work. I could go for that!
