what about a mustardy gold color?

Since you have the monochromatic look going there, I would vote for a creamy tan. I "really" don't like that gray. It seems like you are adding a cool color with warm colors. Just my honest opinion. The bedding and curtains are awesome!

I don't agree about the mustard or tan. I think you are on the right track with the color. A lighter/softer gray with a little blue tone would be beautiful. You just have to find the right color. I would look at the photo gallery for blues and grays on this site.

You might be able to have them adjust the color you sampled and add white to tone it down a bit.

I think a light blue would work but I would like a light brown/taupe family. You can also find in the gallery a thread on taupes and browns.

I'm not feeling the blue or the blueish grey. I wouldn't do any tan because everything will be the same color. I can see how a grey would look good but you just have to find the right one. A warmer grey (no blue). If not how about a green? maybe with a little grey in it.
I think all your wood, curtains (love 'em!) and the painting would look nice agains a green.

I like #1 best. #2 second.

I'm with mlraff and was just doing a search for a color I remember from a previous post. It's called Paris Rain. BenMoore #1501. If you do a search at the bottom for Paris rain paint you can look at it.

It's a beautiful color of grey with some soft green tones. The poster said it looked totally grey on the strip but the paint was actually much warmer. I just love it! It's light enough, too.

I love your browns and they are similar to the shades of travertine we used in our master bath. My walls in there are a Kelly Moore color-matched to Ralph Lauren County Cork. I originally thought it would not "set off" the brown and gold travertine if the walls matched the stone color. Turns out I was wrong, it just makes the richness of the stone color even more dramatic. It might be the same for you with the rich colors in your bedding. I would take one of the shams that matches the bedspread to Lowes and have them do a color-match sample jar for you to try on the wall.

My choice #3 in the first set of pictures and #5, #8 in that order.
#3, looks like a 'bird's egg blue', and is a warmer blue, and IMHO goes well with all the warm gold,brown and ivory colors of your bedding, furniture and rug.

1st the window treatments you are getting rid of are throwing things off - perhaps taking them down & putting up the other set would help visualize the space better -

I'm not seeing any of the palette you have up is working - if the bedding were chocolate I think going toward blue would work - but the bedding is reading a gold color - combined with all the other browns/wood tones in headboard, nightstands, flooring it's not working -

Odd but for some reason I keep going back to the farming pic with the ox/farmer in the stream - I think there is a color in the roof that may work - Try picking up some of the colors in the roof - terra cotta too (even though this seems to go against reason) and using that

BTW if that farming pic is larger - I would try that over the bed

I love the bedding and new curtains so much. I feel BM Pittsfield Buff or Cork would look great on the walls. I love Monochromatic themes. The wall color you now have is too light and too orange for the bedding. I would love someone to photoshop deeper golds on the wall and maybe browns with a touch of gold on the wall.

P.S. Also maybe try BM Adam's Gold on the wall.

I'd vote for one of the greenish ones or the burgundy isn't bad maybe in a little lighter terra cotta as mentioned to match the roof in the picture. I don't like any of the grey or blue tones. The terra cotta or burgundy shades look nice with the wood tones in the floor and the fabrics look light enough that the room is still not overly dark. The right gold might work too.

I would so not do grey or blue. I love what you have going there and would stick with a warm color -- especially if you want a little romance in there. Colors really do affect the mood.

Then again, if you don't want romance... lol

I find myself drawn to the colors in this pallet
the bottom sample on the wall pic above is 4 to the left of the color the link is showing which is "Cocoa Sand". Cocoa Sand or the one above it )Havana Tan) reads an earthy brown to me on the PC screen and looks like a possibility as well.

DH vetoed any dark colors like Terracotta or anything in the red family...

Looks like you're getting a lot of very different reactions! I think first you need to decide what kind of look you're after -- a monochromatic look, or something a bit more colorful. If you want a monochromatic look, a beige hue picked up from one of the colors in your bedding would be great. For more color, I really like the pics that show a deeper blue-gray color, maybe with a touch of green. In the 2nd set of pics posted by Nadine, I think #5 is terrific.

Like someone else said, I would try to pick up one of the colors in the bedding.A monochromatic color would look wonderful.

Blues and browns together seem very popular right now. Showcase homes last year in our area had a lot of that color scheme ($500k homes). If you like the thought of an accent wall, how about blue walls with one as accent in brown? I ditto the vote on Nadine's 5th one in her second set of mockups. You could add some blue accessories to the bed....some pillows that had both blue and brown and tan in them. I would never have liked that color combo except that I saw it done somewhere (2 were in bedrooms) in 3 of the 6 homes in our Tour of Homes last year that were just gorgeous. Think how sharp and crisp tan khakis look with a blue button-down shirt.....same with your bedding (the pants) and walls (the shirt).

Did you see the monocromatic post? I think your room would look beautiful in all the same shades. I'd like to see something like BM Wilmington Tan or something a little deeper on the walls. I know that's not really the direction you're wanting to go, but I just had to throw it in.

I vote for the original paint. I like it better than anything else. Grey makes me think of prison!

Have you considered a light creamy white? BM Navajo White is warm enough but light enough to show off your new bedding and still feel finished.

I'm not seeing red, green or gold for your walls. I really think you need a neutral wall color here. BM Natural Linen, for example? Or, if you want a warmer neutral on the wall: BM Ancient Ivory?

I tell you I don't see any of those wall colors working. I'm having a difficult time really seeing what the wall color is suppose to be matching. I can't get a feel for what's suppose to be going on. Can you do a sample board and put it next to the curtains and duvett without your present wall color in the picture? Maybe put those things against white so we can get a feel for the colors.

It will be very difficult for you match a paint color with your present wall color glaring and reflecting different colors around the room.

Not sure why this thread got pulled up again (it's from March) but since I read through it all.....did you decide what color? I'm dying to see the results!

Your bedding looks very similar to mine and we painted our bedroom BM Wythe Blue. It changes from blue to green depending on the time of day. We really like it.
