If it were me, I would keep the paint white/neutral (consistent with the ceiling in the bedroom). For two reasons: 1) I would be concerned about it being too dark in there with a hunter green or red on the wall. And I'm of the mind that you can never have enough light in the bathroom, and 2) I would want the "star" of the room to be the pine wood (same as in your bedroom) and a bold paint color might compete with it.

As far as color, you will be able to bring in LOTS of color via rugs, towels, shower curtain, and accessories. As far as color, I would consider blue (look at the sign over the bed ,,, I love how that looks). I think hunter green would look good too. To me, blue in a bathroom feels clean and green feels fresh, so those are my preferences and then I would use red as an accent color in the bathroom to tie back to the bedroom.

I think that sounds like good advice. I will probably just go with a light neutral color like you suggested on the walls & then use my accessories to bring color into the room. When you say use red as an accent color also, I am not sure what you mean. Do the rugs ect.. in a blue or green & use the red where? Thanks for your thoughts on this. Has anyone ever used a shower liner with regular tab top curtains for the outside of the shower, like for decoration only? Do you think that would be ok to use or would they get ruined if they got a little wet occasionally? Thanks for any sugestions you all have. Terri

I didn't comment on the shower curtain, because I was a bit confused. By needing an extra long curtain, I didn't know if you meant height or width? I assumed you meant floor to ceiling, but if so, how would a standard liner work, but not a standard curtain? I assumed you were using an L bracket rod mounted at standard height (looks like a standard shower/tub enclosure)? But maybe not?! Are you planning to mount a ceiling rod? Sorry, I'm just not following ,,,

Well regardless, here are a few comments: 1) My number one priority would be to properly manage moisture (keep as dry as possible). 2) If at possible, I would first look to using a standard (72x72) curtain (it will be cheaper, you will have more options, and you can more easily change up the look). 3) Start with a good liner mounted at the proper height (not too short and not too long) that doesn't fly around. 4) Whatever I hung in that area, I would want it to be moisture/mildew resistent, provide ventilation/wicking, have rust proof hardware, etc As such, I would first look to a quality shower curtain, which are available in taller lengths. If looking at drapes, I would probably start with indoor/outdoor drapes.

Regarding your question on the door, I would probably paint it white/neutral (or faux pine) because I would not want the door to be a focal point, but rather have it blend in.

As far as color scheme ,,, on my monitor the tile looks like it has blue undertones, so maybe blue rugs and towels (with a couple of red accent towels), a pattern shower curtain (e.g. a tartan plaid with blue, gray, red, and browns). A red waste basket. Art work that has red, blue, gray, brown, etc... You'll have lots of good options!!

OK, I see what you are saying about the red, just mix some in here & there with the accessories. The shower is 60 inches wide so I am fine there but since I am not having a tub I am afraid the shower curtain would have to be mounted lower then usual to make sure it hangs all the way past the shower pan or I need a longer curtain. I can find a longer plain color shower curtain liner, no problem, but I would like something more colorful so thought of having a different treatment on the outside of the shower. Does this make any sense? As of now I have only purchased one shower curtain rod & it is the kind that is help up by pleasure, not screwed in the wall but that could be changed. Wow, now I am off to check out all of the links you have suggested!!! I can't believe how indecisive I have been about 1 simple bathroom remodel! If your shower curtain liner is long enough to go inside the pan, then your shower curtain could be a bit shorter and hang outside. Would dry better that way too.

I like the looks of a lot of Tommy things & I like #3&4 but they are the standard 72" length which isn't long enough. I think I would need at least 82-84" length for it to look best. I really need to learn how to sew. LOL
The wall height is 88 1/2" The outside height of the shower pan is 4 1/2" the inside height of the shower pan is 2 1/2". I don't know that using 72" length curtains with the rod lowered would look very good, wouldn't that look odd? I am hoping the shower curtain liner will stay in the shower but now I see it isn't very deep inside there.

I agree that you need an oversize liner...I have the same set up in my shower, although the curb is a bit deeper. I didn't want it to be hung too low, although it is just temp (I think) until I get glass doors. I got an oversized liner and hung it so that it touches the shower floor inside, so there is no chance of a leak. Then you could get curtains as long as you need. Or longer and use iron fuseable tape to shorten them. No sewing necessary

A good quality shower liner (with weights) will stay in the shower tray. But the paper thin, flimsy ones (with teeny tiny weights) will fly all over.

Since you are using a tension rod, you'll be able to move/adjust as needed. Have you tried the rod with a shower curtain and hung it just to see how it looks? Since 72" is a standard height, I don't think it will look odd (that's what everyone is used to seeing). But where (at what height) will the shower head be located? Has that been installed yet? I would also take that into consideration.

I'm excited for you to be getting a new bathroom ,,, and based on your bedroom, I'm sure it'll look great!! BTW, I really like that red quilt.
