Flower Garden Nursery, Sandwich Road, Falmouth has 3 inch lavender @ $1, some great "cutting garden" temperennials $ $2, and Night Phlox, free. I took 3 of the night phlox, but bought lots of the cutting garden plants. I'm hoping they will bloom right through until frost. Pondscapes, Rt 28A, Cataumet, 30% off all plant material. They've got some fabulous shrubs and trees (please keep your hands off the liquidamar rotundiloba, I'm planning to get over there later this week to pick them up!). Hydrangea, 2 for the price of 1 - I hope that's correct. Cataumet Garden Center, also on Rt 28A, buy 4 get 1 free on perennials and ground covers - I didn't check the shrubs there.

Here an estate sale is considered an indoor with outdoor items perhaps. Almost everything in the house is for sale and tagged. Usually by someone in the estate sale business. Things are clean and as I said tagged. Usually large items will have a sign saying they will take bids on them - if applicable. Prices are firm until the last day and usually on that morning things are 25% off and later in the day maybe after 11 they go half price. on a big sale the place iscleared out before the 1/2 price goes into effect and then people are let back in. The prices range from the perceived value of the item. I've seen both ends of the spectrum. People line up well before the usual 8 am opening to get in. Most of our sales are run by two popular Estate sale agents and their crews. A tag sale might be in the empty house or just items already priced If you have a lot of stuff it might be well to contact an agent in your community. It might be worth it just to avoid the hassles and headaches and they are usually responsible for everything. One of the most disgusting "estate sales" I went to was run by the family and they had their bed ridden aged mother in the living room watching people go thru her stuff while the family sat around drinking coffee.

Good deal on the KA mixer. I bought a KA one made by Hobart a couple years ago and I too paid $20 for it. At the time I had one of the newer ones and wouldn't you know the new one stopped working, so now I use the older one all the time. We did not go to any rummages today as we had a big rummage sale at Amber's. It rained the whole day, but even at that she took in $115 plus change. Since we have things left and the canopies are up we decided weather providing we will have it next Saturday too. I did go to some yesterday and bought two different lengths of fabric for $4.00 and there was a total of 7 yards very nice too. I did buy 3 books I like for $.25 each. Of course on Thursday I bought the 3 big butternut squash for a dollar each and a cook book for $2.00 to give to Cheryl. Sue

Sounds like you've made out like a champ. DM brought all three of us kids up in stuff from yard sales and using yard sale toys and walkers... Now my DSIL thinks my nephews have to have all new stuff. Those leashes and great for taking kids on a walk and they get use to them pretty fast. My nephew can't go anywhere without his Pooh bear Backpack (leash) so he can be like his older brother going to school with a backpack. Cookbooks are always a good find.
