Well, aren't you just the best shopper!! I'm doing the opposite of yard saleing--I'm taking a car-load of stuff to a local charity. However, if I saw a yard sale on the way......

I'm hoping to get some stuff to Goodwill tomorrow too. And while I'm there....

As your garage sales are winding down, ours are just beginning. We quit going to them, though. I've cleaned out my cabinets and closets. We will go to the semi-annual OTOW community sale. Everyone takes stuff they no longer want/need to the conference center. Usually some really good things to be found.

That stand mixer has to be the bargain of the year. You're lucky to have it!!

You got a deal on that KA mixer! I bought one off EBAY last year, another old Hobart that is a work horse.
Did you know that the attachments from newer/older KA stand mixers will fit yours? Also - there was a KA forum on the net but it is in the process of closing down - a victim to Facebook. I will attach a link to the user forum - I am not sure when it will become inactive. I think if you go to the Facebook page and ask - they will send you a free manual and answer any questions you might have!.

The mixer had a handwritten note on it that other attachments would fit the mixer. That's what made me confident that it was probably in working condition.

The cashier seemed amazed that I was paying that much for it since they were selling everything for so little. I had a really cute strawberry cookie jar in my hands, nothing fancy or collectible, but it was only $1. I had to put it down when I saw the mixer and someone else grabbed it up before I got back to it. It was a small sacrifice. I've seen other strawberry shaped cookie jars at yard sales but not KA mixers.

Not too much today, as I'm trying to get rid of stuff. But I did get a hedge trimmer, a couple of closet organizers, and the ubiquitous books, of course. Two days ago I took some of my clutter up to the Humane Society; they were having a sale the next day. Well, I saw loads of sheets (we need them for church quilting), so I went back early on Friday and got a load of them, so that was fruitful

Dh & I went to the ARC. Haven't been in awhile. He got a film camera & lens for $35 and a BIG sun screen for his trucks windshield for $1. Not a great day......but if he's happy....

Good for you, Paula. I'm not sure what the hobart mixer is, but my KA mixer I got when we married 22 years ago is still in perfect condition, and will last forever. I bought a new one for the cabin at Kohl's with 30% off and it doesn't seem to be as solid a machine.

Good deal on the KA mixer. I bought a KA one made by Hobart a couple years ago and I too paid $20 for it. At the time I had one of the newer ones and wouldn't you know the new one stopped working, so now I use the older one all the time. We did not go to any rummages today as we had a big rummage sale at Amber's. It rained the whole day, but even at that she took in $115 plus change. Since we have things left and the canopies are up we decided weather providing we will have it next Saturday too. I did go to some yesterday and bought two different lengths of fabric for $4.00 and there was a total of 7 yards very nice too. I did buy 3 books I like for $.25 each. Of course on Thursday I bought the 3 big butternut squash for a dollar each and a cook book for $2.00 to give to Cheryl.

I've been staking out Goodwill, hoping to find a winter coat. I found a casual one for to and from the gym but until today nothing caught my eye for work. Today I found a nice tweed Ralph Lauren coat for $7.50 and a Liz Claiborne leather coat for $10. They always have lots of leather but I don't usually care for leather coats. This one was so soft and in pristine condition.
