It is Time to Think About Supper For Tuesday!

I am going to fix a spinach salad. If hubby wants something else he can go to McDonald's. He still has dessert to work on also. What are you thinking of fixing this evening?

I'm making hash from last night's pot roast. Cooked extra potatoes and carrots just for hash. We like it better than just having the roast! Made a dump cake this morning so we actually have dessert for a change. It's a cherry dump cake so we'll have ice cream with it if I can talk Harry into going to the store for me.

I will be having leftovers tonight. I'll look at what's already cooked in the fridge or freezer and decide later.

Oh, ravencajun that looks so good! We had spaghetti and meat cubes, with sauteed purple and green cabbage, lentils, and green beans. I was busy baking walnut Zimsterne cookies, and didn't want to take time to roll meatballs, so I patted the ground beef mixture out in a baking dish, and cut it in cubes when it was baked. I was also too lazy to roll the Zimsterne dough and cut out the stars, so I rolled it into logs and sliced them into oval cookies. They taste the same. ;)

Yes, that sounds like our noodles, because we add baking powder to dumplings to give them some 'fluff', then drop by spoonfuls onto hot soup or stew (often bean soup, in my MIL's case, which I did not find appetizing.) The source I read said that rivals are pinched off and dropped into stock, which made me think of dumplings. We roll out noodles. My father's family had friends, of German descent, who called the extruded flour and egg mixture 'strudels' or maybe 'stroodles'--I don't know how they would have spelled it. He said they dropped the dough into boiling water and served it plain. He was always disappointed to be asked to dinner on the day it was served, because although his family was not well off, they always had meat stock for their noodles! ETA, I'd always seen 'strudel' presented as a German pastry.

My daughter cooked--stir fried vegetables with chickpeas, red quinoa, and left-over angel hair pasta. Last night I cooked--angel hair pasta with poached salmon, peas, and asparagus.

Really hit the spot. I've been thinking about those salmon cakes for a week.To make a basic Hawaiian macaroni salad, you don’t need a recipe; just follow these guidelines: The pasta: Cook 1 pound elbow macaroni (for really local style, cook until soft and fat, but you can go al dente if you prefer). The flavoring: Stir in ¼ cup very finely grated onion. Not minced, chopped or sliced—grated. It should be liquidy (this is how they do it at Diner’s, a local eatery in Kalihi). The mayo: At least 2½ cups for real local style. But there are no rules, so use less if you like. Or more. The add-ins: Carrots, watercress, celery, hard-boiled eggs, pickle relish (try some frozen, thawed peas) whatever suits you. The finale: Salt and pepper, to taste. Stir well; refrigerate. * I don't use pickle relish. I add some grated carrots, dill pickle (diced fine) some grated cheddar cheese and sliced black olives.

For dinner we are having crock pot roast, corn bread, a rare treat-fried potatos and garlic, and green beans. All pretty easy.

Chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, gravy, sauteed cabbage and cookies for dessert.....and probably a green salad before the meal.

Sauteed chicken with mushrooms, mashed potatoes, and asparagus.

The asparagus is just picked from the garden, and there isn't quite enough, so I'll probably saute some cabbage, too. I'd prefer salad, but don't have any in the house.
