The Value of Local Cookbooks (church, club, fundraising types)

My dear DIL's mother gave me a copy of the cookbook that she and 9 other friends put together of things they offered for 40 years serving them to their bridge club, family, events, and friends - that alone is history. It is amazing. Everything is TNT and most make my mouth water just reading the ingredients. To know that they loved making the dishes and sharing them, and knowing that the DD's and DIL's, and sons too, asks "mother" for so-and-so's recipe for such-and-such and for having menu's included for a Bridal Luncheon, a Horse Sale Buffet, and Bereavement servings makes it all so very personal and connected to me somehow even though I was far removed from such goings-on.

What do y'all think of the spiral bound cookbooks that your local people offer?

Nancy
