Yes, but not with a stove-top smoker. I have a Big Chief and I just put the salt in a shallow pan and toss it in the smoker when I'm doing something else. Very easy. Shake it to stir once in a while. You can make it as strong or mild as you like. I use mine in beef dishes, especially with tomatoes. Bean soups, savory dips (carmelized onion with smoked salt is good), sprinkled on meats at serving time. I find that it changes flavor after some time, so do small amounts and use it up!! Mine is not stored in an ideal location though, so possibly would keep better in fridge or freezer. Seal well, it tends to permeate everything! Deanna

I steam 4lbs of tiny red potatoes, cool & scoop out most of the potato. I then oil the skins & bake until they're crispy and mash my scooped out potatoes & place back into the shells. Here's where I need your suggestions: Usually, first, I top the potatoes with melted, shredded jack & cheddar cheese, then top with horseradish/sour cream, fresh snipped chives & sprinkle real bacon chips on top. Heat 1 Tbsp of olive oil. Saute 3 gloves of minced garlic until tender. Transfer to a medium sized bowl, add 14 oz of goat's cheese, 4 oz of chopped thyme and fresh ground pepper. Stir to combine. Hi taigen, Congratulations on having persisted with your Quit!! Have you been involved with the forums there? I was involved with several, some time ago. Quite a number of people said that had it not been for the understanding, advice, support and friedship which they found there, they doubted that they could have persisted in their Quit. Several years ago when I sold corn-fired heating stoves, shortly after they were introduced into Canada, when I had my demonstration trailer set up at a fall fair in a nearby town, three young women in their teens walked by, at least one of them smoking. I approached them and in a rather light-hearted, bantering way, with a smile on my face, asked her how she'd like me to give her a Cadillac? Sort of turning a shoulder toward me and looking at me out of the corner of her eye, she asked me, suspiciously, what she'd have to do to qualify. I told her that I didn't intend to give her a Cadillac, but that if she were to choose to quit smoking and save her money, before too long she'd be able to buy one for herself. When she asked whether I was telling her to quit smoking, I said that I was not ... that I'd lived for a time where there was little freedom and that I'd learned to value my right to choose how I should live my life, and that I should respect her right to live her life as she chose, too ... ... but that I wanted to make a suggestion to her as to some alternatives that she might find interesting, and choose to follow. What she did about them was up to her. As I'd been a personal financial advisor for a time, I suggested that, were I to suggest to her that she to drop the price of the cigarettes on the street every week ... or drop it down a rathole, she'd tell me that I was nuts. But that if she were to do that, she'd be doing herself a favour, rather than spend it on cigarettes, that'd quite likely cause her body major trouble in later years: it's not a good idea to make our bodies like a chimney ... had she ever looked up the chimney above a fireplace?. The girls were rather interested, and we had a discussion that may have been worthwhile. Who knows? ole joyful

Hi Cathie, Sounds like the cable co sure has you upset. Is Satellite an alternative? The cost of cable and alternatives have been discussed here b4...I just did a search on cable tv, and there may be some suggestion found. It is against the rules here to link to another message board similar to the one here. Compare that to linking to Jenny Craig from a Weight Watchers Board, (or linking to that 'other' gardening site from here....so your post 'may' disappear...they do that from time to time.
