The smoking thread...some info

With the recent thread about smoking taxes being increased I thought I would just post this link for anyone who might be interested. It is a support type of site where you put in how many cigarettes you smoke, how much they cost etc. and pick a quit date. They will email you as often as YOU like to tell you how much you have saved, how many days you have added to your life etc. It has various areas of information , forums, chats etc. to help you.

I just logged in to mine which I haven't been to in some time and here is what I have accomplished to date.

My Quit

My Stats:

Your Quit Date is: 1/13/2007 10:30:00 PM

Time Smoke-Free: 793 days, 11 hours, 3 minutes and 7 seconds

Cigarettes NOT smoked: 23804

Lifetime Saved: 6 months, 1 day, 20 hours

Money Saved: $8,813.40

SMOKING IS A TRUE ADDICTION and it is NOT EASY TO OVERCOME. While it was my choice to quit I recognize that others may not wish to do so and I do NOT wish to judge them on their decision...I am simply offering this information and site as a source of support.

P.S. While I did not see an increase in spam mail I would advise anyone who registers to use quitnet to use one of their alternate email addresses i.e. hotmail, yahoo etc.

Here is a link that might be useful: Quitnet support link
